Friday XIV S 2018

Welcome to the weekend or as us pensioners refer to it, just another day OR, Biblically, Ordinary time. Now pay attention as I am going to blast much quickly here this morning. Think water thru a fire hose.

After three (3) days of green tea, this morning is Kona chocolate macadamia. My refined palate fails to register either the chocolate or mac-nuts. Mission accomplished in that it sold the package to a sucker.

Great meal last night incorporating the bounty of Swiss chard, eggplant and other handy items. I purchased two large Portobello mushrooms at the farmer's market a couple of weeks ago and ran a little science experiment drying them out slightly. It improved the texture enough to repeat and not worry if they go slightly beyond ‘expiration’ date.

The gloom & overcast has cleared out this morning. The sun is rising and I fear I will not be able to accomplish HALF of what I would like.

Last night while watching Poldark, I made great progress on the latest three (3) spotfin butterfly fish (Sbff). Should have pictures maybe next report. Also did a little work on a major sign project.

So, that’s it.

A bike ride, out-of-door projects postponed ALL week are scheduled for today. Pay some bills and computer work here as much as I can tolerate. Lots of art work and later something for supper.

There are leftovers of the garden (or maybe it s/b garbage casserole ?)

I saw a headline ‘LinkedIn Sucks.’ I HAD TO read it and it was for the most part fluff but the comments at the end were stellar. It would appear that the world is reading my blog and turning AGAINST or AWAY from social media. Just seeing the beginning of the trend and it is healthy and I LIKE it.

I hear people drop names like fb, insta-gram, twitter, etc and an ebillboard on their forehead lights up ‘idiot, moron lives here.’ They are stealing AND SELLING your personal information !

One of the drawbacks, one of two if you read and grow old, you start failing to recall exactly where one read something or saw.

SOMEWHERE I read that at one time the government (aka Big Brother) was nefariously trying to get peoples PII and people actually resisted. Now people LINE UP to POST such sensitive material.

AND BOAST ABOUT IT. I may have seen this on a science fiction writers dvd. A PBS series on sci-fi writers. PK Dick probed this sort of things as did Geo Orwell.

Received email of another classmates passing. High school alumni group is becoming more depressing. It is getting like a ‘targeted’ obituary alert notification system. Thought about informing alumrep to just remove my name but not ready to drop out entirely of everything.

This was a somber and sobering reminder that death lurks and can raise its head at any time. And when you are called, there are no ‘do-overs’ or ‘in a minute’. You go and are gone.

The unfinished projects most often go eternally unfinished and cleaned out into a massive dumpster shortly after services thrown out for trash. Just a little heads up for planning purposes.

So, Bottom Line … make a plan TODAY, get as much done a you can and feel good.

Celebrate ACCOMPLISHMENTS TODAY, you may not get a tomorrow.
