The dead hour appears to be lingering this day. Again cloudy, darker and very quiet. Saturday morning but no different from any other morning. I amuse myself with the ‘smart phone’ first checking the weather, then a quick scan of the propaganda headlines.

YT sent a link to a youTube political video and talk about waste to the 10th power. OMG.

A congressional committee meeting and why, how and whatever possesses those people of spend their lives doing THAT. One legal counsel used the word ‘anima’ and I thought I heard ‘enema’ and then I looked it up.

AND … ?

Let’s just say that contextually they are related and leave it at that. I saw some humor in it anyway.

So I decided to do some surfing on the smart-ass phone as it is still too dark to read the book.

HEADLINE: ‘Two men held for break-in at IOWA county courthouse. Pentesting gone wrong at Dallas county courthouse.’ Turns out the two people worked for a Colorada security firm and were engaged in a penetration test (update your lexicon if your over 17). It seems no one in the executive branch informed the enforcement arm that this was going on and the men were arrested.

OK. I KNOW a little bit about this and ‘penetration’ testing has morphed since I was younger and when I did some post-grad work in security, I updated, matured and understand the ‘new’ meaning fully. OR more better than most.

Probing physical security IS a key component of a comprehensive pentest. I am not totally surprised these two ‘alleged’ criminals are still in jail however as the ‘process’ is now working against them and they MAY spend the weekend in the lock up.

Another story ‘IOWA man charged with confinement of son …’ This headline was truncated and the link took the reader to the next word and exposed the bait. This was a foster child case, very convoluted and kept getting weirder and weirder with every word. So I eventually had to cry ‘uncle’ and stopped.

Third story ‘IOWA man on trial for murdering wife with a ‘corn rake.’ It showed a photo of an ‘expert’ witness holding a corn rake and pointing (not necessarily THEE corn rake used in the crime).

SO WHAT’S A CORN RAKE ?

It looks like a four (4) pronged pitchfork bent 90° like a hoe.

So I start to wonder to self because I live by myself (NOT alone) …

‘Such a crime spree or rash of ‘news’ from the good people in IOWA and I am thinking an outbreak of some corn-based virus OR a toxoplasmosis cross-over breakout PERHAPS an X-file and then think of it as the acronym. You know, Idiots Outside Wandering Around … then I notice the website as a pop-up ad appears for the Des Moines (Iowa) Register.

No wonder ... suddenly everything MADE SENSE.
