CANCELLED

Back up and in the The Dark Hour on the sad side. TODAY would have been the 38th annual running of the HH100 but canned due to the restrictions created by artificial epidemic. Scrambling organizers recovered with a ‘virtual’ ride and solicited riders to take pictures and videos and post them on the various social media platforms.

Team Wicked Strong leadership considered this briefly but the idea failed to generate legs and a launch trajectory so I think not and ‘wait til next year.’ Training will start later this morning with an easy(ier) and lighter regimen.

So I awoke, did my duties and my mind began to run full throttle.

I thought IF I had a dog, I could let it out. Again, KNOT.

I quickly recalled it was Saturday and we should be reporting from Wichita Falls and the Big Ride with 12-15,000 friends.

Very sad.

Today’s image will NOT be virtual but historical.

The FIRST image I can find to post up as I am squeezed for time.

Again this morning another discovery on the smart phone and the tunein.app. A show called ‘Hank’s Gumshoe OTR’ is old-time detective shows 24/7.

This morning I learned Richard Diamond aka Dick Powell was created and written by Blake Edwards. While investigating and researching Edwards for his work on current telly-v binge Peter Gunn you (one or ME) I instantly see the similar threads running thru the fabric.

Edwards was also responsible for the Pink Panther series of films with Peter Sellers. FACTOID: Married to Julie Andrews for a long time (2010 his death).

The days schedule revolves around the forecast which is predicting a 40° high later today.

A dawn dip in the cement pond when the water s/b actually cold. Should be (s/b) invigorating and refreshing as the sun comes up.

A bike ride, two training laps around the block on the hybrid, work inside painting, making sawdust in the garage and later in the afternoon after it starts to cool down (?) head to the range and striking some balls and practicing for the next Colonial outing in September.

I actually cooked supper last night. I could not coax Jeannie out of the bottle due to the heat. I made a one-pot, island pirate soup or stew with shrimp, colossal scallops, corn, potatoes and rice noodles.

SOUNDS GOOD.

An it was.

I ate too much AND there are leftovers. My problem with Jeannie stuck in the bottle is the los (leftovers) accumulate and the risk of rot or spoilage increases markedly.

Yesterday I ventured out mingling among the diseased and unannointed to Dan’s Fruit, Firewood and Fresh Produce for the fifth and likely final watermelon of 2020. A huge specimen and prime. It chilled over night and should be the perfect experience later TODAY in the shade tree out front. The shipment of melons arrived that morning and the red melons WITH seeds sell out fast so doing ones homework again paid off NOT in spades this time but watermelon.

Bill had a victory yesterday.

PRAY TELL. ISN’T THE SUN COMING UP YET?

It was an honest mistake all the way around and here is the brief account how it all unfolded.

I ordered a long-sleeved white Dallas Stars logoed tee-shirt for the playoff run a couple of weeks ago and on Wednesday I received an email informing me the package arrived and was ‘delivered’. OK.

The problem was no package. I waited a day as a courtesy and still no parcel was delivered.

So I called, complained and they said ‘clearly’ the package was 'lost' and set up sending another of the same article that will ship on Monday for delivery next week. The agent gave me the FedEx tracking number and I was irked just enough to call FedEx ready to hold a responsible party accountable.

Well don’t you know that before I could call Fed Ex, a white package shows up on my stoop. I retrieve same first looking at the label. I recognize the tracking number, the last four numbers actually, and then notice ‘USPS’ so many riddles were solved with clues from the label before opening the parcel. I mean I knew what was or s/b inside. And it was.

So now I should have two (2) of this shirt.

YOU WILL RETURN THE SECOND SHIRT AND DO THE RIGHT THING … ?

Not in this case.

BUT WHY?

I was on hold far too long listening to an vicious, idiotic voice loop, then the agent asked me the same question(s) from the loop to ‘verify information’ AND my time IS worth something. Let's just call it compensation for my time OK?

Then they made numerous mistakes and I am ‘so sorry for that.’ THey are now saying that phrase very much resembling a recording.

The email notification of delivery was fraudulent, the method of shipment was incorrect. I probably PAID for FedEx and they shipped USPS (less expensive) and it all went over the little agents head so she will have to learn these lessons and things the hard way.

My plan is to gift the second shirt. Check that. I will gift the FIRST shirt preferring to keep the SECOND shirt for myself because of the rich story with the heavy moral.

BUT IT’S THE SAME SHIRT …!!??

U r a MORON. Get over it.

I have.
