XVI A MMXXI

Rain and very cool approaching chilly & cold here on The Hill this morning BUT still alive and well. That is a minor victory.

Yes Sinthia from Cincinnati I have been busy and there is no indication THAT condition will change in the near term.

Taking the brief opportunity for a mundane update under the assumption your life is worse and is in need of a lift.

Working my way towards the end of Grant. In the wee hours this am I passed p700 and am into chapter LXV with LXX the final.

I will NOT be reading all of the ‘select letters’ included in the memoirs title but I will be doing the selecting. The Plan is scan some of the correspondances to the other generals and Civil War leaders and more likely more of the letters to his wife Julia.

Let’s say just looking for tips & pointers.

Their courtship and life was most interesting. In the biography it was mentioned Mrs Grant (Julia) had an eye problem and in the beginning age of photography only allowed her left side (good side) to be photographed because she was self-conscious’ of her condition. Grant’s response can only be described as good husbandry.

Elsewhere, it’s a Friday and the weekend celebration includes a nice supper. Shrimp, a fresh salad from the backyard container jardins, and a nice wine not enjoyed since Lenten observance. Also as a side a sweet potato (or a yam ?) that is wrinkled enough to be a raisin.

Projets artistiques of course are in order. Like all weekend. The following weekend there is a one-day show at the tree farm in Chambersville just N of McK. Then in two (2) weeks the Market Street show which is my last big event before the Colonial.

I hear the rain pattern stepping up so a good time to clear Silver out of the garage for a God’s washing and to create a larger studio and work space.

Poor Richard stopped yesterday and gifted your correspondent a box of wooded wine box panels. This windfall of material is PERFECT timing for Market Street as this (or THAT) type of item I would expect to sell well at that show. All I need to do is frame and finish.

Yesterday I visited Donnie and we have a killer awesome collaboration project in early stages. This is going to be a jury piece, insanely clever and TOTALLY unique. I told him then and there $4-500 but that selling price could go higher. He was pumped.

While there I cut blocks of the western redwood to make 8 (ate) of the smaller Qt. I am thinking this is a good balance as I already have four (4) larger Qt (1 done, three in process) and the smaller (read ‘less expensive’) will sell easier and faster. Think 'singles' as in hitter for the smalls and home run on the larger.

WHAT?

I thought I was going to get an entire report WITHOUT interference and interruption from you Ms Bold Caps.

THAT is baseball speak. Keep working on it.

Time for a refill on the java, some early breakfast and get with the Plan and program until a break for supper.

Don’t hold your breath for the next report.

To be ‘safe’, and we ALWAYS want to be SAFE, check back next week.

Bill out.
