Twenty One 2015

I took MLK day off, or as I call it Monday, from blogging so I am back today. I mean WHY get revved up for something, ANYTHING, go about doing the preps, getting ready & going out only to get there to learn & find out that that party is observing the now Federal holiday.

So did you miss me?

Like a blister I am told.

Today is National Cheese Lovers Day, Buzz Aldrin turns 85, twitter & tumblr Leaders Ditch Phones to Combat Addiction & from the Washingotn Post, Asthma is not more prevalent in the inner city say researchers which is certainly comforting.

But how about the ‘phone addiction?’ The therapists of the world have to be LOVING this. The cash registers are about to scream & bust at the seems for a new affliction has been identified as an 'addiction' that can be ‘treated’, people can be ‘diagnosed’ with when nothing is actually wrong except a complete & total lack of common sense & self discipline.

Instead of a new twelve (12) step program, how about Bill's new ‘One step’ program … TURN IT OFF. Leave it in a spare room, leave it on vibrate, walk away, maybe you will forget about it or better yet lose it.

BUT THAT'S MORE THAT ONE STEP.

Fans, there’s ONE in EVERY crowd. This one is a newby, just paid up, so I am going to take a deep breath & let it go.

Today is the monthly alumni luncheon. At a Chinese buffet of all places. I have eaten there before with groups from work celebrating anniversaries or birthdays when that was trending. Lots of fish on the steam tables but bet heavy I will steer clear of any suspicious meats. Red, white or fowl.

Besides, before I start getting cleaned up for that, I need to make a very precise carving operation on the commissioned blue winged teal decoy. It is in a critical area, one I have never taken too much time on but I started thinking about it & planning last night. During the night I woke up & it will be a very careful pass with the small aggressive ball spinning super fast. About half-an-inch deep between the tale feathers & rump then blend & burn into the margin thus created.

OH BILL, YOU MAKE IT SOUND SO HOT.

Of course it IS. Power carving takes tremendous skill. The tool turning wicked fast is only one aspect however one must be always cognizant that the curved & rounded shape is about to become a canvas to which paint & colors will be applied later to complete the effort.

More later sometime.

The photo today comes from Oz. Recall last entry the ‘cria’ mentioned in communications with Emma. This IS the CRIA backing up. Not sure what Mom is doing BTW. I saw a thing on Animal Planet yesterday in fact. I need to google or perhaps Emma or someone will flash back here the diff between a llama & alpaca. Strictly a size thing ? I thought I heard Turtleman use both terms describing the same critter he was chasing down at the time.

Speaking of chasing down, I have now just enough time to post, fire up the carving tool &

make the one critical cut so I can sit, relax & blend it all in later this afternoon.

Blessings from Bill on this stunning sunny day in the cloud.
