One 22 Fifteen
Taking the mid-morning break in lieu of mid-day nap.
Rain & cold, the famed ‘wintery mix’ without the low enough temperature to create the ‘white death’ aka snow. It was 15 in the room when I woke up, 15 in the Great Hall and recent check was the room dropped to 14. I don’t see it inching up at all with the rain, cold & no sunshine so best to get moving unless the heat gets turned on which I don’t see happening until much later.
Patty is coming over & she does not tolerate internal reductions so as a courtesy, I bump it up a couple of notches.
I only have a few small things today. I am texturing the commissioned blue winged teal today to completion using
small texturing stones to achieve the form & feel of feathers. Much faster, quicker & easier than buring in the feathers but not without a price. Burning means breathing light smoke while texturing is breathing fine dust. Must find the package of dust masks.
From the idiots at shareable this morning … 22 January ‘highlights’ … Sam Cooke was born, Heath Ledger died, Supreme Court decides Roe v Wade & the unabomber pleades guilty.
Trending topics are a what to avoid but mild to wildly amusing to track movement of the herd. The Washington Post reports that the measle outbreak is centered in the anti-vaccination hotbed of California (go figure) & your facebook behavior PREDICTS how you will do on tests.
Speaking of social media & complete wastes of time, I receive a junk email broadcast message from my dearest ‘friends’ at linkedin ‘inviting’ me to get & stay informed following ‘influencers’ such as TB Pickes, Jack Walsh or Dick (Sir) Bartsteader. I mean WHY follow THESE people? Because they have a lot of money? Listen up, you CANNOT be a leader if you are FOLLOWING someone or something like money, fortune or fame. Avoiding at ALL COSTS.
Reading what these influencers are selling ROBS my time from carving. NO THANK YOU.
So moving along.
I need to come up with something super for supper. Something new, different & innovative, with turkey AND peppers, that Patty will eat.
Tonight at 8:00 there is a District 4 Town Hall meeting. Our elected rep, Ray Ricchi, I met at the National Night out two summers ago & he is a Gamecock AND a Red Sox fan so he has my vote permanently. He appears to me to be doing the right things in the right way so I am thinking about showing up.
Tomorrow I am venturing out for a job interview in the AM. More on this later in the next report.
COMMON, GIVE SOME CLUES OR A CLUE. PLEASE?
Very well. A quick one.
I gleaned this 'opportunity' out of the many broadcast emails that constantly enter my in-box. Candidates should come in, fill out an application & be ready to interview. Position is for an ‘Operations Analyst’ reviewing data, analytics, for trends & patterns reporting to the Director of Operations. An internet search revealed that current & past employees have not rated it as a great place to work and I will stop there. I will check it out & decide for myself. If it is as bad as some of those writers/reviewers claim, I can walk at any time. All I am saying is it is worth a shot, go in with low expectations & give it a shot. Stick it out knowing that there will be dollops of fecal material to ingest but turn blind eyes as long as possible.
SOUNDS LIKE THE PROVERBIAL SELLOUT.
That’s it.
I need to make & breath some sawdust.
Bill over, out
