Fat Tuesday Eve 2015

The season of Lent is appoaching & I am making my plans. As you know, I truly look forward to Lent each year for a number of reasons all correct & right. Of course.

It is a time to prepare for the year, a spiritual reset & refresh. Fasting & abstinence make losing a couple of those excess pounds packed on during the Holidays easier, warmer weather makes getting outside to exercise more frequent unlike the winter months. So you can see how exciting it can get.

Follow up to Sandy in Oregon. What’s going on there?

I saw on the news a political scandal but joined the story already in progress so help me. The governor is stepping down ? A career pol of 35-some years APPARENTLY a pretty good record however his FIANCE said or did something that created quite a flap & the media smelled blood & forced the gov-gen to step aside in dishonor.

Side bar, the gov is a silver haired gent & the fiance is 20-30-ish & on the hot side of the dial so I am thinking he must be doing something right.

Anyway, it gets better. The NEW governor, the secretary of state, a female, is the first OPENLY bi-sexual governor in the US. How about THAT for a first? I am only SPECULATING here now but perhaps this is what was driving the media & opposition forcing the gov to step down. To get their, their girl into that office. The way things are going now, if I can extrapolate, which I CAN, after the first flop of the current first dude which has turned into a test of tolerance & endurance, I am predicting the first openly transgenderer will be elected president in our life time. What a MESS. Just when you think it can’t get worse, it DOES. We will then be truly the laughing stock of the world. I ax you, does Val Putin look that bad?

So Sandy, or ANYONE, what is the REAL SKINNY in Oregon?

The cold has returned this morning. A brisk 14 in the sleeping quarters, 15 in the Great Hall. I went back to bed after getting up at 2:30 AM to work in the garage on my sign. It is really looking good. I’ll post a picture of the finished project in a week or two with the story.

I made great progress on the BWT this weekend. I repainted the body two (2) times Saturday & finally got the base coat right. Sunday I started filling in the brown body spots. Very tedious but very nice to do with a hockey game on for white background noise.

Finally, there is a job posting of interest this morning I must jump on TODAY.

Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday & hopefully I’ll have a little more time. I will try to post an excerpt from the upcoming last-trip report which is now bogged down & stalled. Recall that there was an overnight in New Orleans and Fans, you won’t want to miss it. We were there BEFORE Mardi Gras but things were ramping up & we got out just in time.

So if you are not paid up for your 2015 membership or dues, get them in. Things are getting tight here & this turn in the weather means a bigger heating bill to keep the castle warm.
