Hump Day

No sooner had I posted yesterdays report than a major change of plans occurred which certainly bears posting. I could issue a formal CORRECTION proclamation but it begs the eternal fall back question of mindless therapists everywhere … why?

I mean recall the SMTA Expo was off both the schedule & the plan? Well, I checked the electronic mail one final time before logging off & going about my revised day plan & routine(s). Well, there was an email from IEEE with weekly activities so I checked for giggles & sure enough, the SMTA Expo 24 March was there.

Now I am chapped & see an opportunity to dig down deep, find who is accountable, seek out justice & correct a wrong. IOW, kick some butt & take a few names.

I called the venue, the Plano (convention ?) Center, spoke to a very nice lady explaining the situation, that the event was not posted on the event calendar on the website for the Event Center & I did NOT want to hear 'shit happens' because it doesn't just 'happen'. It is a PROCESS.

I closed jokingly that I wanted to see some heads roll for this serious oversight & I was not coming down from the cloud in McK if there was no show. She saw the humor and said to come on down. I had been to similar functions in the past & I knew that the sponsors had lunch brought in & I was entering that particular window.

I am getting tired of this story so here comes the abbrevo. I mean I feel like I have repeated it now 4-5 times.

I strolled around the exhibits chatting with an occasional booth meister until I had enough & asked where the lunch was being served. I went thru the line very selectively & found a table that had four (4) former co-workers & colleagues from my former place of employment so they let me sit. Mike was ‘happily’ retired & enjoying it. He had retired before I & we didn’t know each other too well. Allen was a real good guy & I sat next to him. Jeff I knew & worked with was across the round table. A hard-driving up & comer … still but mellowing slightlly. BillV was there briefly but moved on. He had left the company but we caught up later.

It was great to see old friends, catch up & as much as I HATE to say this, trade gossip. END OF STORY.

So, nine months to Christmas. That means if you want or would like to have a Christmas baby, you maybe shouldn’t be reading this but doing something else.

DO NOT look for a report from the edge tomorrow. The 26th being a multiple of 13. I haven’t had a day off in ages. Well, OK. About 13 days.

Tonight, IIE has a function at Qorvo, a semiconductor manufacturer in Richardson. Dinner, meeting, presentation & tour of the facility. I have been wanting to get a tour there for ages to see how semiconductors & microelectronics were made. OK, not ages but how about ‘for some time’?

Tomorrow morning I head up to Sherman for lunch with Nanette. First I am going to visit a carving buddy Pete & visit his ranch, see his horses & (wood working) shop. For some reason I don't think Pete has a 'studio'.

Pete knows Cal & I stopped to see Cal on my way home yesterday. He really helped me square up the BBWD. I was drifting badly with the bill, the entire head oh man. So much. It was very cool to see Cal work on a project. I mean he measures EVERYTHING & is extremely precise. Yours truly compared poorly as a babe in the woods or a lamb in a minefield.

I learned a lot to say the least & got inspired & also received a nice shot of confidence. Going in I wasn’t sure if I would be able to finish another project. Ever. Seriously.

I had reached a dreaded writers block but with a carving project. This is a common occurrence with yours truly when it comes to PAINTING as there are paintings, painting projects & paints just here, there & scattered in my various work areas, studios & work shops … waiting.

I mean were I to be struck by a painting lightning bolt, I could knock off or out 4-5, no 8-10 projects out of the park probably in a day or two if sustained. Anyway … that's my problem.

It is early, still dark actually shortly after 6:00 AM. I have the digital music playlist from yesterday going randomly playing which of course has nothing but killer songs. I see the time shifter has finished an overnight tv show recording. Not sure what it even is but it must be good & worthy if I set it up.

Also yesterday I had -1 of the specification printed. I finished the -2 & did not realize the -1 was active & relevantly related. The dash one is only a little over 100 pages so that should not take too long to read.

We are looking at 21 C this morning inside. Forecast is for a rain event later so if it gets light enough quick enough & it is 16 (aka warm enough) outside, a quick turn bike ride would be close to petty theft.

OK. The well is dry, Time for that much anticipated & always enjoyed second cup of coffee.

Draft a shorter term finite plan to get me thru just in case it rains.

For the next entry look at Friday’s date numbers for significance. March, month 3, day 27 which is 3 cubed (3x3x3 or 33) and the year 15 (3 x 5). I mean what else does one need? I ax you.

I am so proud of you for starting to see the significance & importance of this new calendar, the schedule & most importantly, the method to the madness.

We shall celebrate next time with a gathering on Friday.
