2015. 22 April
I have a title for the next book. Stories of Bill: Misadventures of a train wreck magnet. OR perhaps CONFESSIONS of a Train Wreck Magnet.
Todays photo could be the cover art OR I just might include actual photos of the ACTUAL train wrecks.
I found one image, a murderesstresses row of Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Brittany Spears and a few others I hadn't dated (yet) showing lots of bling, leg and I am wondering why none of them are therapists. Perhaps that is or are one of their day jobs.
SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS this afternoon as April showers continue BIG TIME. But the big news is on the theological / spiritual front as a nagging mystery was solved by self with the help of the internet, nifty research, dogged investigation & a little luck.
Here is the story.
I was becoming slightly annoyed at a failure to explain a short phrase that appears in two creeds of the Catholic church. The Apostles Creed contains ‘… (Jesus) was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell and on the third day he rose again from the dead.’ The Nicene Creed, now used in the modern Mass liturgy, does not mention this fact the He descended into hell at all. Skips right over it.
So I was wondering for the longest time why the difference, and more better, where could one find this account in Scripture of the three (3) days Christ spent in hell? What happened during this time, what did he do there, ALL the details …? Surely there had to be SOMETHING, somewhere.
I mean I even pinged Emma who deferred the question to a higher order closer to home.
Well, there was a show on the History channel about mythology, a marathon I guess for lack of a better name, and one show was about & dealt exclusively with Hades, both the god & the place, and a talking head SME mentioned something that caught the attention of my good ear, probing eye & sharp mind.
He mentioned a Gospel of Nicodemus so I now had a legitimate new lead & solid clue to run down. I started reading another Bold Catholic book which in the index had a list of Biblical abbreviations. No book of Nicodemus on either the Old or New Testament listings. Perplexion continues.
So I went to google & found in wikipedia ‘Nicodemus’ and after running down a few hyperlinks, I actually FOUND what I had been searching for.
The Gospel of Nicodemus is a apocryphal gospel and it contains Descensus Christi ad Inferos.
Roughly translated Christ’s decension into LIMBO. The direct translation of the land of the dead, non-living or afterlife are not direct translations, somethings can be lost and I contend that some of this is ‘dumbed down’ either intentionally, not intended or most likely benign neglect & ignorance.
I mean I only found this because I am paying attention to details, asking questions, probing, seeking knowledge AND the persistent persuit of the truth. Must read the full account in details here soon but this is truly & certainly very exciting. I downloaded & printed the 24-page document. It reads like an ancient trip report so far & is consistent with what I/we know & have been taught. So far.
YAWN.
See what I mean?
There is an epidemic of ignorance and speaking soley for myself here now, I personally want to READ about Hell FIRST in THIS life because finding out about it in the AFTERLIFE is going to be just a little too late. ALTOGETHER too late.
On this calendar day, Happy birthday to Jack Nicholson & Peter Frampton & dying this day were Richard Nixon & Pat Tillman.
In ‘Trending News’, People mag rag rated Sandra Bullock most beautiful woman. Now there’s a reason so take up stalking.
Elsewhere today, paint, carve, workout & plan. Tend to some correspondences, clean the casa & make plans. Va has a dinner reservation so I need to figure out something to do with a filet medallion. Probably couscus & a spring greens garden salad. Need another vegetable. I see a bag of Bill’s frozen corn in the freezer box. I am thinking some hatch peppers … ?
Also, during the extended storm break, indoor solitary confinement, update the website. A trip report is DONE but needs picture formatting to post & the CARVING tab needs some work. NO. A LOT of work. This is some material beyond the GALLERY. Some will appear in both places but the CARVING is primarily ducks, decoys & associated duck tails. (duck humor …)
Bill out. PUMPED !!
