Cinco de Mayo
That’s right … 5/5/15 is HERE !!
One of those days that was severely impacted by weather and lack thereof it following its own plan.
I rode the bike to the banks (yes, PLURAL) & on the way back it sprinkled slightly with the wind kicking up and a noticible drop in temperature. So I got home, retooled to an indoor-centric activity list & began. After a spell, about 2 hours, I checked the weather app & the probability of rain dropped to nearly zero until evening.
So I moved back to outside & fooled with plants, jardins & water conservation experiments already in progress.
I MAY not have the motivation AND inspiration to complete this entry but am pressing on …
Just heard the local weather and we are SUPPOSED to have rain AND severe weather for the next six (6) days. So painting, carving & cleaning each & all which need to be done over this time.
FOLLOW-UPS:
I submitted the last & final (hopefully) changes for review & approval of a,b,c’s for bunnies, monkees & donut destroyers. Again, HOPEFULLY, a revenue stream will turn on here soon as a result of royalties & astronomical global sales.
I actually spoke to the mycologist referral from the past weekend. He finally answered his phone as he was just going into work & was going to call after he got out of work which was between 4:00 – 5:00. That didn’t happen so as Tonto would say to the Masked Man… ‘what we do NOW?’
A: Hold to think. (aka nothing for now)
I reached again by phone a POC at Raytheon in KY that I got a lead from at the KoC golf event on Friday. I heard they are looking for four (4) people real bad & I followed up. He was in a meeting & would call me back. Guess what ?
A: That didn’t happen today either.
I DID make a meaningful contact with an Airbandb local host for an informal/informational meeting. This initial lead goes back to early April and airbandb DOES NOT make it easy to make such contact WITHOUT going thru them, making a ‘reservation’ and such rules under the guise of ‘privacy & security.’ But today, finally, I broke thru & got a phone number to call so tomorrow for that.
from the wires …
Born this day, Nellie Bly. Reporter of some note. I always thought it was a fictional character. Born 1864. Account lists occupation as ‘journalist.’ Judge for youself as an independent study project.
Died this day, Napolean as in Bonaparte NOT Solo. In 1821. Fascinating historical character who even has a complex named after him.
AND FINALLY … in 1961 Alan Sheperd is the first American to arrive in space. Folks, listen up carefully. I actually REMEMBER this & can offer an accurate (somewhat), first-hand report & commentary on this event.
This first ‘visit to space’ was a mere 15 minute rocket ride as I recall. The Mercury rocket with USN Commander Shepard aboard was launched & I don’t even think he circled the Earth. This wasn’t done until John Glenn on the third such mission.
Today we would call Shepard’s ‘visit’ to space a ‘drive by.’ One could also think of it as going for a swim but only dipping the Grande toe into the shallow end.
Carry on.
Bill out.
