Darkness. 7/8/9 May 2015

Now dark & late at night. The wind howls, flashes of lightning & heavy rain pelts the walls of the castle as the wicked storm rolls throught he night. Perhaps that is hail hitting the windows with a distinctively different tone.

Anytime now I expect the fortress here known as 4901 to be lifted and be known going forward as Fort Kansas. I can’t hardly wait until the morning to see how much it has rained & the damage.

Things are really popping.

Going to turn in, read & PRAY.

So the lights flickered, the cable tv went out with the Blackhawks leading the Wild thereby effectively ending the evening.

Now Friday morning the air is cool & clear. The birds sing & slowly the world comes to & wakes up. Laundry is going, the pool person just left & I await the delivery of the new mattresses. The window is 9:00 – noon. I have a tiny leak to repair on the pool & am missing flux. After reading the instructions, ‘flux is critical’. I of course know this but reading it REALLY drives it home & omitting is wasting time & the recipe for disaster. So rather than scurry off to Home Depot, I might as well look in my places in the workshop where it might be hiding.

This weekends plan(s) has already had wrenches tossed in. Due to the weather, it looks like a hike at a nature center is out as Va has to work the polls Saturday morning. As soon as she can break free, the Renaissance festival at Scarborough Faire but now that is iffy with the heavy rain. The grounds could be a real mud pit.

Born this day in 1884 # 33, Harry Truman as in ‘Give ‘em Hell …’ THAT Harry. Grandpa Jack was a big fan of HST. Also Don Rickles is 89. Passing this day, Maurice Sendak. Not sure who he is. A project for later. VE Day in 1945. That would be Victory in Europe ending the Big One, WWII.

And last but certainly not least on this day in 1886, Coca-cola was invented.

Which came first? The Makers or the Coke? Why did the rooster cross the road? To get his Makers & Coke. Knock-knock ...

OK. Gots to go. The Mattress giants are here & the laundry is in final spin.
