National Sex Day 2015
Oh Baby, We have been waiting all year for this day …
Aka, according to the dweebs from Shareables enewsletter, ‘National Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie day.
I know it sounds like an unpalatble combination, but Mom could make it & our neighbor Chauncey LOVED it. He had the rhubard patch.
Let me ax you, which would you rather observe OR take part in ? Speaking for myself & STRICTLY, one adds calories, the other burns calories like crazy. My vote is cast. Case closed.
So I am up, had the bike ride, breakfast albeit late again, watered the jardin and started some FRESH ‘crème beans’ purchased at the roadside farmstand Saturday. I found some pork in the freezer, some dried jalapeno flakes in the pantry and the pot is underway.
Last night the Bolts beat the Bhawks 3-2 in another outstanding Stanley Cup Finals game. Tied 2-2 with 3:11 remaining in regulation, the Bolts scored and proceeded to hold off a Chicago onslaught of unrelenting proportions. Fabulous action. Immediately after, a special get this.
‘Center of Attention: The Unreal Life of Derek Sanderson. I taped it & am watching the rest of it post breakfast. Lots of Bobby Orr segmental interviews. Orr, the consumate gentleman & Class Act always, smiles & chuckles telling Sanderson stories. ALL TRUE.
Sanderson was a CERTIFIED Colorful Character. He is still alive much to the amazement of everyone including himself. Only his friendship with Orr saved his life from booze, drugs & womern. OK, so two out of 3. Like there was a contest back in the day, ‘Win a date with Derek Sanderson’. There were 115 winners.
He even had his own talk show. Guests included athletes, musicians & playboy bunnies.
Then he fell to great depths sleeping on a bench. In the winter. In Central Park.
After one comeback, in a tv interview, he was asked about the future. He said he didn’t worry about it because he could be dead in an hour.
But it had a happy ending. He is still around, clean & sober acting responsibly working with youth in Boston.
MOVE ALONG ALREADY …
OK. That’s it.
Enough for today. How do you like that?
Must sheppard the ‘crème beans’, dip in, out & back into the lagoon to remain somewhat cooler. I have another great read underway, #digital vertigo by andrew keen. Tough sleding as yet to reach the 100 page mark. But very, very interesting & should be REQUIRED reading for everyone/ anyone that is thinking social media & networking is ‘harmless.’
There are a number of artistic projects screaming for work attention both painting & carving.
Signs, ducks, tropical fish & shorebirds not to forget a sculpture & a major painting still the View from Dukes.
So, having a great time, living large & wish you were here. OK, 2 out of 3.
