Flag Day 2015
An EXTREMELY rare Sunday afternoon entry this day. Why you ax ?
Because I can.
No seriously, it is a Holiday, a certified flag-flying Holiday & the opportunity to flag the American flag is a GREAT DAY both to celebrate & therefore issue a report.
Actually I am relaxing waiting for the golf to come on telly. Did a one (1) hour training ride this morning with Patty. We understood & agreed before starting that the route would be the training circuit or my ‘loop.’ I was happy with the ride as far as training purposes go. The rate was about right as I lost a couple of minutes when I had to stop to pick up the garage door opener that dropped when the clip on failed. Luckily I realized it at once & got it before a vehicle ran over it. This stoppage cost me about 2-3 valuable minutes. The lap times were dropping but the delay hurt the overall time.
Patty got three laps in & was waiting when I got home.
There was an idiot, a FLAMING idiot, driving a black BMW convertible that I had some words with.
He was going less that 20 mph in the left lane & I got a tip off something was wrong early when a car honked at him as I approached. I actually CAUGHT & PASSED the fool on the bike. I mean cars were passing him quickly & dangerously on the right which on Lake Forest is the bike lane.
I told him to turn on his four way flashers & he gave me some crap like what was my problem ?
Safety fool.
Afterwards, Patty said his right rear tire was flat but I sure didn’t see it. He still should have had the flashers on to avoid an accident.
Anyway, such is or ARE the type of idiots out wandering around (IOWA) that one must continually deal with in the suburbs or a larger metro area.
I am still wanting to make some mint syrup. Yesterday we picked blueberries in Bonham. It rained on the way to the patch but stopped as we arrived & we got them picked. The wet berries required extra processing steps which I started immediately after arriving home. The berries had to be thoroughly dried first & before freezing.
I am thinking I need to get back up & pick some more. Need to make some jam. We also found another farm to get onions, squash, cucumbers, potatoes & it looks like peaches eventually.
Jenkins had a 'SOLD OUT' sign up & his vmm directs inquires to his ‘facebook’ page for status.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?
OK. My time has run out. Things to do.
