Ides of Junio 2015
Rapidly approaching the solstice now & the briefest of updates follow. You’re going to want to read on, pay up & pay attention.
A passing shower unloaded strangely this morning while the sun was shining. Now the air is cool, clear & bright as the sun continues to rise. It is, in short, perfect.
I was reading on the heating pad this morning when the rain hit. Now reaching the home stretch of Digital Vertigo but it is a dead zone. Finding myself forcing & struggling a bit in this chapter. Reading is good as is this writing today as my plan is to spend some quality time on the IIE article.
Yesterday Va axed me about it & I had to sheepishly admit it was stalled. I printed out what I had, made some notes & went into the soft version to make additional changes before turning in. I moved things around so I have some momentum going for tomorrow.
Other highlights from yesterday after the report, I DID make a batch of mint syrup. It turned out good. It is a nice golden brown with a 22 minute steep in full compliance with the formula/recipe.
Next batch I am wanting a nice green color so my first adjustments will be more chopped mint and a shorter steep. See what that brings.
Estate mint with sumac berry tea this morning sweetened with the mint syrup. Very good.
Continuing to process bluets. Individually freezing them is NOT quick and best results are achieved after 3-4 hours. Also, planning the next trip up that away for more for jammers, giveaways & the fresh ones to extend past the end of teh picking season.
No rats trapped overnight with two (2) traps set. Looks like maybe I got the only one in the hood late last week.
So that’s about it.
Tonight the hockey season could end. Blackhawks lead 3-2 in the best-of-seven series with game 6 tonight in Chicago. Still hoping the Bolts recover and make a game 7 back in Fla. Patty is coming over for dinner, watch the game & swim if it gets & stays warm enough.
FINALLY, there are NO tiger lily blooms this morning. Not alarmed as it looks like there are some buds waiting to open but just watching and waiting patiently for the white spider lilies to bud & open up in their full glory.
I am thinking it would be stunning to have a photo of the orange tiger blossoms & the slender white petals of the spider.
