It’s ‘Giving Day’ in NORTH Texas. Not exactly sure what this is but I have an idea. Let’s speculate & say that it is a lame, vailed & shaded attempt to collect another tax, recover some of what gets lost annually in the tax free weekend or simply pick your pocket.

What is sick is how it is marketed. Like you should feel good DONATING (read GIVING) to your favorite causes.

Me thinks NOT THANKS and this one will certainly NOT make the Calendar according to Bill.

I mean my inbox floweth over with spam from non-profits ‘reminding me’ that September 17 is GIVING day and remember them.

Well, I am countering this by declaring today a hibernation day from all email AND also a Spend Free day. Spend Free days are when one usually makes an extended effort to spend NO money on ANYTHING using either a value stream analysis or a similar make versus buy analysis.

In an emergency, of course, but the point is hang on to it. Keep it in YOUR pocket, don’t let it burn a hole in your pocket and watch out for the other guy. Don’t let them KNOW what’s in your wallet.

Up early & decided you deserve a break today, a quick update & entry since it has been a while.

I am enjoying sipping a tall, cold glass of the estate blend iced sun tea this morning with a squeeze of lime. It tastes ALMOST as good as the first swig of a cold beer on a warm day.

The morning is unfolding in a new venue, a sitting area in living room #2 with a recent influx & acquisition of some new furniture.

And I am going to just mention that it is splendid.

Multiple seating locations in comfy chairs, a couch & recliner to look out windows, view the plants & even watch recorded media. An armour opens & a flat screen is hooked up to a VHS and DVD player for when the main telly is down or house guest prefers. Perhaps even eventually, but not likely, an age-appropriate video game like commandos & infidels or Seals v isis.

Big day today.

Meeting with my financial people at Ricker Retirement, an LPL company, to tweek the investment program. Then haircut in Richardson on the way home. The hc is in prep for a job fair next week. Not going in there cultivating the homeless look.

WHAT ELSE ?

Been working like a person possessed on projects. I did get a shipment of blanks out to Rob in NY which is huge. He has the heads-up to please turn apund asap.

I finished a puzzle/toy for ages 2-5 using reclaimed colored plastic ring 6-pack holders, dowels & a scrap piece of a 2x6 for the prototype. The concept works & now I just need to improve the base’s apprearance.

Well I see that I am at my word limit for today. I feel good. Optimistic. The Financial peeps have an objective to make their customers (in this case me) feel comfortable & confident that everything is going to be alright but I KNOW that. Not souly on their account but more so on God’s account & Faith that He will see one thru all turmoil for it is written.

Pity the poor people that do not have God in their lives.
