Eleven 5 2O15

It’s been THREE (3) days therefore time for a resurrection of sorts. In a sense. Work with me.

Up early with some degree of excitement. Go figure THAT one out. It could be disguised high anxiety but I would need a cheap therapist to TELL me that. (?)

This image is a ‘before’ shot of todays main objective, target and focus.

Five (5) little shorebirds, plovers from the family Charadriinae, genus & species all tbd.

Tomorrows photo, OR perhaps better said & more likely, the NEXT daily image will be the AFTER photo after deciding on which genus & species and complete the painting.

SO now YOU have something to REALLY look forward to. Preliminary research yesterday found some interesting & very colorful plovers. The question becomes the Egyptian plover is very colorful and even interesting but will anyone unfamiliar with Pluvianus aegytius plunk down the $$$ and BUY it. The Plan is not to GIVE away these object of art …

The marketing department in the past has not been entirely successful selecting & determining objects that will MOVE. That is exactly WHY the mallard was selected as decoy #1 to finish & display. The pintail & woodie are spectacular & both of those are in process & nearly completed.

The BBWD, the second of that genus & species to be completed & offered for sale, is colorful & appeals to me but it is too unfamiliar to customers I am thinking. I donated a BBWD to DU this past Spring as a fund raiser and was not pleased how it went for auction. This will be interesting.

Any extra or free time after completing all painting from here on forward to showtime will be spent on crosses. One large one will be finished early this morning. Right now I am thinking $100 but it COULD go up.

Patty selected the cast iron cross to hang on the larger weathered picket of the four (4) iron crosses. However after looking at metal crosses available, I felt it was nice but needed some contrast to set it off. I think I succeeded but stay tuned to see the final result & the true are-teest at work.

One more thing. We sampled the giardiniera yesterday. Count me 2-for-2 on such recent kitchen adventures. Success with the sauerkraut AND now giardineria. All the vegetables had nice crunch and the pop of the spices & vinegar were nearly perfectly balanced to my taste & Patty was impressed as well. Or so she claimed. Sometimes people fib to keep from damaging ones feelings as we all know. We shall test again with other subjects at a later date as well as ‘blind’ taste testing a wider sample set.

Coffee this morning. Supposed to rain ALL DAY.

Perfect for sitting, being still with a steady hand and applying paint to little blocks of shaped wood that will become colorful creatures that will gather dust like no ones business.

I could go on with Commentary but frankly, right now, I have much more pressing things to attend to. The elections of this week and current events in the country & the world are way too confusing and so far BEYOND repair that there isn’t much anyone can do to rectify.
