Eleven 10 Twenty-15
OK. I think I am all caught up.
SO HOW WAS GOLF AT THE COLONIAL ?
I was hoping no one would ax me that.
It was bad. Proabaly the worst I have played in memory going back to 11 or maybe 12 years old with my Dad.
I had low expectations to begin with, the weather conditions PLUS the ‘emotional stress' of the show & then the relationship demise, I mean how many EXCUSES does one need anyway ?
I mean most people use one & done finding that sufficient in most cases.
The highlights, which will be very brief for they were few, were tee shots. A few were struck absolutely perfectly. Soaring long, far and bending slightly with the fairway when required.
When Andy said ‘automatic’, the curse began. Evev drives became a struggle I could not get back
It was a treat to putt on the pristene greens early in the morning. The pace slower than most years but still very true. If you stroked the ball carefully, on line, it remained on line & dropped into the hole. Not at all like previous outing at Watters Creek where a mere shadow or a fart would knock a putt off course.
The only saving aspect was my playing partners also had poor days.
Andy had a couple of good quotes he said I could use. Like ‘That putt looked so good for so long …’ on one that he missed. A second escapes me know but it was just as clever.
Wayne was a retired Industrial Arts teacher from Arlington who played out of Rolling Hills. He probably had the low score of the day for our group. A tall, quiet Texan like in the movies. Good guy.
On the return leg of the trip back home I stopped at Mikey’s for a quick chat, brief visit & we shared a brew-pop. What a character.
Home to unpack, put away, tidy up, make list and repack.
That’s about it.
I have a long list in process of MUST DO things today as I am teleporting tomorrow.
Tonight there is a McKinney Creative Community meeting which I will investigate for the first time.
Low to zero expectations to no expectations. Not much or never really have been much of a ‘joiner’ but will at least check it out.
Until next time, perhaps I will post something ‘remote’ if the worm hole has correct & proper technology hookups. Do not be worried or alarmed if there is nada for a few cycles.
Still need an image ... hang on. WORK WITH ME !!
