twelve twelve 2015
Time out. Things are popping & dropping like leaves into the cement pond. A brief update follows. Todays image is what I’m talking about. There is a schedule which we will get into … eventually.
Numerically significant day as double 12. Think a pair of twelves. OK so it's a stretch.
Work is nearing completion on the By Water sign. It is & will be slightly behind schedule but only slightly. I am very pleased with it overall here on the home stretch and will post some images of details on this site probably in the Gallery. Three panels, two (2) small color images carved in relief hung asymmetrically with small chains. Very cool.
Yesterday I had a meeting with Tupps Brewery & they will have & hold a small inventory of signs & sell at their site either in the gift shop or a gallery area tbd.
Emma checked in from Oz. Great letters. Emma has been nominated, down-selected and is a finalist for the hugo award for Best Writer of the year for letters, notes & emails. Her most recent account on bull ants needs to be kept out of the popular mass media for tourism Down Unda may take a hit & plummet as a direct result.
Anecdotally, the roadkill account was somewhere between appetizing & bizzarre.
If you think fire ants are problematic here in the US, more specifically Texas, dance with glee that bull ants do not invade. I see a trailer on Animal Planet (or another cable network) titles something like the Dangerous Animals of Australia. They call salt water crocodiles salties.
Another Ozzie chuckler, there is a comedian Bill Kearns I learned of this week. Stands-up, reads his poems on youtube. In one such poem, he refers to folks at a senior center as ‘oldies.’ Check it out. Goggle Bill Kearns one youtube.
I must drop off here now.
Virginia is flying in to town & I have to meet her at the McK airport. We will then quickly refuel her jet then turn it around to head to Austin for a Saturday night affair with the well-heeled and wealthy in the Capital. Having a small executive plane with a jet engine or two is quite nice to have at ones disposal for such things. YOU should try it when you get a chance. I am finding that it extends ones party range.
Must pack, get a second cup of coffee & dip the leaves off the cement pond as mentioned at the start. Harvest some surging oregano growing wildly on the grounds in the gardens to start drying while gone. Could be ready on returning home.
