Cause(s) to celebrate. The relaxed update follows. Numerical pattern this day as you see and last night I completed a project. The sign turned out better than anticipated, arrangements for delivery made for later today AND payment. TODAY is PAYDAY !!

So todays image is the latest from Bill’s Studios on Pecan Hill. The client’s (aka ‘customer’ sounds so dirty) name has been cropped out for privacy, safety & security because pixelating remains in my ‘lone-ranger’ plans.

I am very pleased with the resulting images carved & painted on the second & third panels.

The great blue heron filled the customer request for a ‘crane’. Same process as used previously with the flamingo.

The large mouth bass was a toughter task.

The process was the same for the record however finding a suitable line drawing is what took a search longer than ‘normal’.

Painting both would have been an insurmountable challenge were they two dimensional drawings or flat paintings. However, the third dimension, a pseudo/quasi ‘relief’ carving, made things much easier to pull off.

Once again rather than laying down paint in a ‘paint-by-numbers’ fashion, building up, blending paints & colors in a LONG series of washes built depth of color splendidly & much to everyone's satisfaction.

After a brief, personal & private celebration, the plan is for going back to work on a series of signs for Tupps kind of again ‘on speculation’ until a firm order(s) materialize.

I figure I have two (2) requiring either a design or go ahead to proceed so Tupps can keep me busy until that word ('go') is received.

This next ‘batch’ will be either on display at the brewery gallery or in the gift shoppe case. Tupps upper management is still fluid on where & how such things are going to be done. The brewery has only been open since May of this year so growth & evolving are the same thing.

Yesterday I was working around in the backyard & realized I was overdue with a YES (Year End Summary) of the garden, gardening activities & experiments.

While I have run out of time & energy for great depth in such a report right now, a brief highlight/bullet list is achieveable.

I WILL harvest tomatoes again to finish the ripening process indoors. Late Fall or better, EARLY Winter sees the smaller gems turning pink in the late sun of unseasonably warm days. Very exciting & I am waiting patiently not having any tomatoes until I can celebrate again with my own being sure to enjoy them IMMENSLY.

Last week one night when Patty was over for dinner we finished the eggplant. My eggplants are yet another example of my shattering the myth ‘everything is bigger’ in Texas.

Like here lobsters are called crayfish and you get so many per pound. It is very hard to get filled up on them.

In the case of my eggplant, fruits have been running somewhere between golf ball & baseball. Closer to golf ball size but purple & tasty. I also have to pollinate them myself going out with an artist brush & making like a bee. Talk about labor intensive.

Lettuce & greens are coming along & I expect to continue those harvests even after a killer frost if we have one.

The mint continues to go nuts. Sometimes I wish the frost would take the mint but then no mojitos, tea or flavored water.

The potatoes in the container experiment was a marked success this year. Plants sprouted & upon digging found one (1) red spud which is what I planted. Will plant red-eyes again & hope for plural potatoes next harvest from the half-whisky barrel.

The peace & quiet, tranquility of solitude have been destroyed by one of the neighbors either mowing or blowing lawn or leaves.

Hijo de puta AND figlio di puttana !!

I quess I’ll just have to crank up the classical station. (?)

OK. I see now time, energy & material are all run out.

Today I must get out the Christmas cards, try to assemble & ship some gifts, make sign patterns and squeeze in a nap.

Maybe I’ll energize with the nap first. (insert smiley face, with sun glasses)
