Friday the 18th
OK. It is written in the Ground Rules of the new calendar according to Bill this small change. When the 18th day falls on Friday, thou shalt have GOOD LUCK. We’ll keep & observe Friday the 13th as is but deemphasize & favor the 18th more to turn around the general mood.
I LIKE IT. GOOD IDEA.
Of course it is. Have you EVER run across a bad idea here ? For crying out loud.
I think it will gain traction, the peeps will love it.
Last night Virginia dropped out of the sky and needed some arm candy for the Audubon Society’s Dallas chapter annual Christmas party. It was a covered dish supper and highlight for me besides the Makers & coke was my dish was CLEANED out first. First time that has ever happened.
WHAT WAS IT EMERALD? COLE SLAW??
On contraire FB. I decided on something new & different for a change and besides, my depth chart is deeper that a one-hit wonder.
PLEASE GET ON WITH IT …
As everyone knows, brussel sprouts, another one of those myths smashed here in Texas about everything being ‘bigger’, everywhere else they are known simply as one word … cabbages.
Here, to glorify & amp them up, TWO words for spificication, hence brussle sprouts.
OH BROTHER.
Please don’t interupt me. I am rolling & I don’t have much time.
Where was I ?
Little cabbages are in season now, plentiful and hence wicked inexpensive fresh. Recipe was very simple first frying bite-size bacon pieces in the large Fe (iron) pan, remove bacon, add some butter to remaining fat and drop in the halved cabbage heads. Recipe called for leaving cut/exposed side down for aethetics as they brown nicely. I added some cut fresh mushrooms & I mean and am here to tell you they DISAPPEARED. I went back for seconds & they were GONE.
They were so good I am leaning for a repeat performance but a smaller qty before the season ends. I can see it being a seasonal standby & favorite here at the Kitchen in the Castle on Pecan Hill.
One week until the Fat Man in Red appears. Saint Nick will have shimmied down chimenies by this time next week it will be all over.
HOW’S THE SHOPPING GOING ?
Thanks for asking Emma. Ladies & gentleman, Emma from Oz checking in. Always good to hear from her.
I have two cards left and three peeps so one gets dropped from the A-list OR receives the e-version. One gift to ship out today & after shopping trip out yesterday realize I can pick up a few loose ends at local K-Roger for local passing out. I am thinking gift cards.
So under control and much less stressful than a few years back. Christmas was like a time to perform, show how much money one could spend & keep up with the Cardasians. I mean we HAD to buy another tree. We had one already and the SECOND one (phony) was half-price marked down from $3 bills (that's $300). Run, RUN Rudolph. She is someone elses albatross now. THANK YOU Lord.
Other than that today, a slow lazy day. Avoid the crowds & hordes shopping. I can paint decoys and select some wood panels for the next batch of signs for Tupps. Start those.
Patty is coming over after work for dinner and probably a movie. Menu looks like fish, wild brown rice & a sweet potato mashed & jazzed up. It was chilly last night so either netflix or something from the video library.
Got to scoot. Find an image & post this mess. As Colonel Klink so often said to Hogan dismissed … auf weidersein.
