Twosday December tue-tue
Another slow, sunny & warm morning as Christmas rapidly approacheth. I started an entry about this time yesterday morning but a) ran out of material b) ran out of ambition, drive or determination. Pick one.
Now, this morning, after a day off, I have recovered and found all the above. So I sit, hot black coffee at arms length, raring & ready to produce & perform for all the good citizens, subjects, followers AND Phans of Bill’s nation, aka the Republic of Bill.
Material abounds so where to begin?
First, the Winter solstice arrived with little to no fan fair. This is truly huge fans for please, please take a moment to reflect what it means on a galactic or solar or planetary level. Days will STOP getting shorter & now begin getting longer until summer. You MUST TRUST in this. For me, this is psychologically perfect timing to get thru the long, cold winter months. You should not notice it immediately but over the coming weeks & months, you will notice the changes. This timing is consistent and a lot better & smarter people than us figured it out long ago and it is just this way.

Gifts. Christmas has become the huge commercial success that Sam Walton, Walter Annenberg and PT Macy envisioned years ago. Everyone this time of year is scrambling for the ‘right gift’.
How foolish is this?
There are all kinds of references from the Bible, wickedly LOST in translation, such ‘it is better to give than receive’. This has become a mantra reinforced annually on Christmas cards ad nauseum until nowadays people actually BELIEVE it. I am here to tell you it’s all bs, That’s BS as in bull (crap).
Everyone knows it is better to get than give. COME ON !!
People do not know what gifts are. They equate gifts to ‘value’ in terms of money perhaps. The more expensive, the better. ‘It’s the THOUGHT’ that counts.
Excuse me? When did YOU start thinking of such a thing?
This morning as I awoke, I was looking at a lamp I made out of an empty Makers Mark bottle (1.75L). A Granddaddy. It looks good, well made, solid, sturdy and yes it works.
Sure it was a prototype, the label has a little rip but barely noticeable. Truth be known, that is exactly why I kept it.
I was thinking it could be a nice, unique gift perhaps for S2 (son-in-law). He would probably graciously accept it, maybe even say he ‘loves’ it, find a place for it at first but then later either toss it or donate it.
SO WHAT IS THE POINT HERE ?
YOU have to figure it out.
Why are YOU gifting?
My coffee cup (fav) is another such example I got as a gift last Christmas from NGFB. Her & her Mom made it from a ‘kit’ from amazeon.com or some idea on a social media site I am certain.
Anyway, she scribbled on it making marks which have nearly all worn off over the past year. But the shape of the cup is nice, smallish, a nice artistic taper and it was a gift. When I have my coffee from this cup, I think of her.
I am very glad it wasn’t a tie, shirt, shoes, socks or underwear. These things I get by myself & for myself.
But moving along,
THANK GOD … !!!
Recall some entries back I printed out some articles with helpful longevity tips & life info I was going to ration out and force-feed faithful followers in tiny incremental doses so as they would sink in?
Well, here & now, once again, Bill DELIVERS.
Rule #4 from the Centenigerians Top 25, ‘Don’t spend more money that you make.’
Everyone, I mean EVERYONE, can take this to the bank. First dudes, politicians even high-maintenance therapists.
Last evening, Patty & I took in a hockey game. Great seats, Row A, right behind the glass in Allen & saw the Amerians fall to the Oilers from Tulsa. Great action & being right up so close made me itchy to play again. It was minor league but the skill level was still very high, incredibly fast but not without mistakes.
There was a little scuffle late and one player from each team got tossed to get an early shower.
Tulsa scored the last three (3) goals after the Americans opened scoring in the first period for their only marker of the night. The Oiler defense was stingy and the American goalie was better making more tougher saves but the first star on my scorecard went to the Tulsa D in a team award for breaking up a high number of scoring chances, rushes & break ins. They got the puck out of the zone quickly and a couple of the fast breakouts led to scores.
OK. I have procrastinated sufficiently and must get back to work on some signs in studio G. I started another batch of sauerkraut yesterday & that needs checking. It should be sunny & warm enough later today to take a short nap out on the back deck in the sunshine.
Thanks for tuning it.and if there is not an entry here in the next few days and you didn’t get a card, Merry Christmas.
