18 March
Reluctantly making an entry this day. As usual, I have much on my plate to do however I am up so early, it is still dark and I am way, WAY ahead of the curve.
So, a sum of St Paddy’s day and a look ahead to the weekend. As Jackie Gleason used to say, ‘And away we go …’
First, what’s Irish & stays out all night? Answer: Patty O’Furniture.
Another? How many beans in Irish bean soup? Answer: 239. One more bean & it would be too farty.
ENOUGH !!
Patty showed up after a grueling day at work seriously chapped and made fabulous Irish tacos. They were much better than the last time and I am thinking PERHAPS better ingredients maybe.
Lean ground beef, a very nice tomato, lettuce from the backyard jardin. With some effort, we were able to locate some Sadie’s salsa from New Mexico with roasted green chili’s. I had an extra taco to ‘clean up’ the remaining meat & potatoe mixture. Delicioso
I had a bad dream last night that I was back at work. I ran into a former co-worker, Walt who had been promoted. He told me things had changed a great deal and things now really 's*cked.' No body seemed to care or even WANT to work. Everyone was a slacker.
Like I said, it was a dream which often times make no sense at all. I/we all live with this.
Today it looks like I can wrap up the crepe myrtle holocaust & clean up the little remaining pieces with the broom. Must get to Home Depot on opening to get another pair of pruning shears. The old pair, made in China, wore out yesterday & cannot be repaired. A thread is stripped smooth on a specialty nut that I am sure by design I cannot duplicate. Mother of Pearl. I NEED the smaller cutter to reduce the stick size to put branches into the fire. The chiminea is the perfect vehicle for this tasking.
Yesterday the wind actually worked in my favor & behalf fanning the flames & coals acting like a bellows and the pile was reduced greatly. I missed a webinar mid-afternoon but I really needed to get the burning done first. Besides, I can probably get a recorded copy if I really want to see it from a download at the BAE site.
This weekend in nearby Frisco is the Texas Pinball Festival. Sounds like fun but it isn’t free. I am imagining for $35 you get to play maybe all you want ?? IDK.
The lawn needs knocking down. I HATE it when the weeds rise making the yard look awful.
Taxes if it rains or doesn’t.
Artistic projects, correspondences & read some if time allows. Looks like maybe Mass Sunday morning with the Festival Saturday running later.
Almost forgot. Will be using the Press Box pass tonight as the Allen Americans take on the Alaska Aces.
Take a break in time this afternoon frmo burning to make Stations of the Cross and find some fish for supper.
Have a splendid w/e.
