21 March

Much like Rip VanWinkel, I awake this day & say what’s happened. You should take such a sounding yourself periodically even reluctantly if there ever arises some self-doubt that your abilities have been ... impaired (?). Not here, not now anyway. At least for a few more days.

Taking a short break from domestic duties & a celebratory mood as the data package has been mailed to my CPA, Lisa, this morning. After much effort, angst, pressure, tension & stress,, think sorting out & combing a plate of spaghetti that had been cooked. A knarly, knotted & knotty mess.

LESSON I: I have said it before & I'll say so again never have words rung more true than sometimes it is just not that easy being me. Taxes are like one of those Inevitables in life. The other being Death.

Make no mistake, there ARE differences which we could discuss but not right now. Death is one time, random & a complete total surprise. Usually. Taxes on the other hand are regular, annual and anticipated or expected. That's about enough.

LESSON II: During another break this morning, this article from the news services caught my eye.

After studying the daily habits of 177 self-made millionaires over the course of five years,Thomas C. Corley found that they avoid one costly habit: procrastination.

Now I MUST STOP visiting Procrastnation Station. And Just as I was hitting my stride with that attribute.

LESSON III: So since the last entry, we are in a new week and a new season. Lent is drawing to a close as we have entered Holy Week. Palm Sunday yesterday, Good Friday & Easter are coming up weekend.

Today is very chilly. The sun is shining brilliantly and it looks really nice but when the wind kicks up, you need all the clothing you have on just to keep warm.

Yesterday was a carbon copy so I made a large pot of chili. Patty had some issues with the beans and they were ‘undercooked’ she claimed so I let them continue to cook. We had something between a 'fight' to a 'healthy discussion' on the doneness of the pinto frijoles.

I think she was looking for them to be like mushy little mashed potatoes encased in a bean skin. Kind of like a little veggie sausage. I PREFER a bit of crunch & texture so after she left they seemed to be just fine & finished off quickly.

OK. Back to the dishes & kitchen duties. The place has slipped due to the burdens of tax preparation(s) and needs to be tidied up. I am thinking a little fire in the fireplace would be nice.

Just drag in some smaller dried crepe myrtle branches to take the edge off.

Todays image is seasonal for Spring, the season.

A little chick.
