0316/25 Good Friday
Holy Week draws to a close and it is a very solemn time on the Liturgical, Catholic or Christian calendar. This most Holy series of events will continue on my new calendar for a numnber of reasons all right, correct & proper.
I awoke this Friday morning after a luxurious night of sleep. I stayed up late watching the Dallas Stars lose in Arizona to the Coyotes. Pitiful in a word. They whipped up & down the Hawks in Chicago to clinch a playoff spot then fall flat, FLAT and become lap dogs to the Desert Dogs being very accomodating.
Afterwards I read for a bit and with clean sheets, no shoring or a supper generating no gasesous by-products, did not wake until 6:15. Went back to sleep until the gulls started at 8:00. Very nice. It was a little cool and before dropping off had to pull up the Siberian comforter but I must say I was close to comatose.
The tea this morning is estate mint for a change with lemon & honey. The honey is imported, from NY, in an Easter care package from my Mom. Also contained a roll of potice, a Slovenian sweet bread made for such celebrations. It is a National dish & Mom’s is as good as it gets. She also sent a jar of her killer pickled beets which are now top shelf in the pantry. Some cookies which were disposed of properly and swiftly.
Today will be low impact, close to home in observance of Good Friday. Stations of the Cross at Noon at Saint Michaels. Fasting & fish (meatless) for supper.
Lots of painting today. It looks nice outside but the weather app said 1 first look. I hear little ones outside playing in the hood & I guess the vehicular traffic is reduced so good that the Holiday is being observed.
I checked the calendar & the next big show, the Heard-Craig Center for the Arts Woodworking Extravaganza is only six (6) SIX weeks away. I need to get a number of things done before then & start getting organized. There is a committee meeting this coming Wednesday afternoon so I am all in.

Todays image is a recently completed project I had PROMISED to post.
Well, I finally got it hung & here it is.
The frame is the thing and that is a 12 x 48 inch mirror resurrected from a curb sale on bulk pickup day probably over a year ago.
It had a cheap, flimsy, white plastic frame that is also being salvaged as well & repurposed as another artistic project.
It will be hung in proximity to and support regenerating neuron is all I am going to say at this time. It is a ways off as one might guess.
Yesterday I labored furiously & completed a one (1) minute ‘self-promotional’ video for an internship position with the World of Beer. Contest entries close 26 March & I made the deadline. Probably won’t win but much like the lottery, my chances are now 100% better. Think kind of like buying NOT buying a ticket. No chance of winning if you hat isn't in the ring.
Did I mention last time this office received a report from Emma Down Unda ? Another cria joined the herd. Other news escapes me at the moment but some was private & personal so in respect … MUM.
I am feeling very good about myself this day. I actually solved & repaired a nagging problem with my laptop. Nothing magical or mysterious, just experiential using ability (limited), logic & skill sets such as they are.
Patty is off visiting Family and Virginia asked me to go to NY & I flat out declined. If I was going to go that far from here, aka Ground Zero and the cloud, I would go see my own Family. Received a text and S1 wants to go to Easter Mass so that is a nice. I don’t think he realizes the volume & heavy traffic for this particular Holy Day. Some call them Cheasters only coming out at Christmas & Easter.
Yesterday I happened to be tuned in to radio when Rush Limbough was on. He is so funny sometimes. He called John Kerry (Secretary of State) 'Lurch'. I am laughing now with the comical reference. Kerry is more like a mummy but he is wound too tight. When he was running for President, he refered to himself as a ‘hockey player’.
WHAT? I says. That was a lie. And he never brought THAT analogy up again. Talk about wooded and an unlikely player. Putin plays but doesn’t brag on it. I can’t even see Kerry on ice skates let alone going end to end. But say what you want. He married well. Like into $57 MILLION into the Heinz Family. That's right. The condiment empire.
What else, what else ?
Nada.
The well is now officially dry.
Have a spectacular & joyous Easter weekend.
PS: By popular request, I’ll post some decorative Easter Eggs next. Gots to do them first.
