040316/ Sunday
Today at Mass I learned that Easter was a one (1) week celebration & feast.
So, OFFICIALLY, today it is over & ended.
The image today is the last egg standing; the LAST hard-boiled egg NOT eaten; the 2016 Egg Coloring contest winner here at the cloud.
So this the NOT 1 April, aka ‘April Fool’s day’ or on the new calendar according to Bill, national bosses day. While i IS the first April entry, it is NOT April 1st.
We were ROLLING with momentum so well at the end of March that we could have KEPT with March and gone 32,33,34 March. Effortlessly.
WELL I HOPE SO. YOU HAVE BEEN AWOL FOR MORE THAN THREE (3) DAYS NOW. SOME OF US HAVE BEEN CONCERNED ? NOT REALLY CONCERNED BUT WONDERING.
Allow me to back fill for the loyal member for it has been very busy. it is a beautiful day outside and I have a lengthy laundry list which actually does include laundry this day.
Thursday was filled & action packed as mentioned. The only thing that didn’t happen as drawn up was the mid-term/session activity. I had lunch with Martha & some of her friends but we did not get off of the grounds to a museum for an outing as planned. We decided that by the time we got out & on the road, then travel time back, would have left insufficient time to get thru any museum and have me make the last planned activity of the day so we hung out at her place. Martha served fresh baked bouchons & a chilled white wine until I had to leave for the IISE Lockheed Martin tour.
The tour was just fantastic & unbelievable. During WWII, US bombers rolled of the assembly line at the Fort Worth plant at a rate of about 17 per DAY. Today, it takes about a week to make one (1) F-35. During WWI there were 30,000 employees at the site, 80% of which were female. What a difference a war makes.
From the days activities there were two (2) exceptionally strong networking opportunities for outstanding employment.
First, at Dale’s, I showed & left with him my resume & cv which he requested soft copies of each to circulate among his current active network. That has been done and now I owe him a letter with further critique detail of his novel ‘the Iguana Project.’ This was early in the day and my first stop.
At the tour, I met a lady who was an engineering & management recruiter.
HELLO !! That’s me !! She requested my resume & she now has both resume & cv as well. Needing to follow up with her this week as well to keep pushing forward the effort.
Friday I made a re-wake up call to Texas State Representative for our election improvement / reform meeting. Still looking for a mutually agreeable time, date & place for the meeting.
Patty & Virginia both visited. Talk about cutting it close. I just did squeeze in Va for a Saturday night dinner while I sent Patty on an errand. I simply do not know how some guys juggle 3-4 ladies. It is challenging enough keeping two (2) from finding out about each other.
WHAT DID YOU COOK ?
Oh wow. A very thick steak, marinated and then grilled to perfection, with brussels sprouts fried on the grill with onion, bacon bits, some butter and a few diced jalapenos. KILLER. A tossed salad with spring greens from the kitchen jardin. Talk about tender & sweet. OMG. There was a killer craft beer that was over 10% alc by volume. a novel, unique & TOTALLY over the top & crazy good. She paid for it.
Today Patty & I did an extended bike ride base lining our nearby long-training course. It was a little windy and we got around XX km in just under an hour (55 minutes).
OK. That’s all & enough for now.
I have some letters & correspondences to finish a alluded to earlier. Painting a couple of projects, tropical fish & a sea scape painting in a window frame.
I spoke at length on the phone with my accountant Friday & my 2015 tax refund is one step closer. A healthy refund should be direct deposited in 3-4 weeks. Looking GOOD.
Monday I will be headed up to Sherman for lunch with a couple of retiree friends. Our annual lunch.
Work, work, work the rest of the week. The 7 May show is going to be here before I am ready if I don’t watch out & be careful.
Next Tuesday there is another meeting & a radio spot/interview. I need to get over to Cal’s to rip some boards for the next two (2) frames.
A visit to Leon’s Friday morning had the mechanical drawing of the peppermint angelfish in a frame for hanging. It looks really cool. Leon's an artist.
Speaking of the peppermint angelfish, two (2) are moved ahead and nearing completion of the carving only. One is life size & the second slightly larger than life size AND both getting closer.
OK. Still trying again to cut, run & dash.
I’m looking for an entry or update maybe late next week. There is simply too much going on AND to much to do.
Oh, this week, purchased for the FIRST TIME, Tupp’s Cotton Mill Gold Pale Ale. A six (6) pack now WIDELY available locally. The most interesting man in the world left the planet just in time. Tupp’s is the new sheriff. Soon to be global, right now the first hurdle is MOBILE … just out of town but look out.
A great buzz is brewed AND BREWING here local.
Tupp’s is Topps.
