So we are underway and its Monday. It rained overnight or better said a series of moderately severe thunder & lightning passed thru the region. The weather app is still off the stupid-phone AND it still rains, the sun comes up and sets accordingly & all on schedule.

I have the first of multiple loads of laundry cooking. So convenient to have such appliances down the hallway. Today I WILL HAVE this days laundry & previous weeks ALL folded & put away.

Also I have started to unload the car from the show.

Truth be told, as it usually is here, I am rethinking shows.

While sales & revenue are nice, it is also interesting to see what other artists are doing. Meet the artists, their respective spouses and in general just other interesting people as well.

Attendance was light but the demonstration went well. It was a beautiful day and their were some good contacts made. Like for M.A.S.T. This is the McKinney Artists Studio Tour or something like that.

When I put out my shingle last year, it was too late for that year and I was just in time to miss it.

Too late to sign up and as a newcomer, aka outsider, bursting on the scene would have been ill conceived, haphazard and poorly planned. IOW, a disaster waiting to happen. Been there, done that.

Now I have met a number of the key players, I am somewhat or more established as they have seen my work and I feel a little more comfortable having some sort of symbolization of approval. I think I was either invited or encouraged to participate sometime during the day which was very cool.

There are a number of painters that 'do MAST' and quite a few artists doing pottery & other types of art but few carvers or wood workers. So I could be well positioned just doing what I do & being Bill.

Held over two days in November, the group is very well organized and all the artists open their galleries, shops & studios to the public so I am thinking kind of like the event at the Continental Building downtown a couple of years ago reported on here. Light music, snacks & some form of booze encouraging moderation & responsibility.

In my case, I’ll open the house, MY studio & gallery, and just have a party. The committee publishes a map with names, address & brief descriptions of locations around town & the event is very well publicized so we'll see what happens.

The first day happens to coincide with the birthday of S1 so I’ll invite him, FB, NGFB, everybody but the x. Get a keg of beer from Tupps, small glasses free however larger steins or pints available for day rental.

And if clients get too buzzed, there is Bill’s B & B right upstairs with rooms while they last to the HIGHEST bidder.

I am going to HAVE to get a cash register.

KA-ching. $$$$$

I guess that’s about it.

After all, I do have much to do as usual. The list works well with my self-diagnosed ADD or ADHD. WHATEVER !!

Coffee this morning in living area dos, last week known as studio V (five … Roman numeral).

Well, it has started to rerain, the coffee cup is empty and the first load of laundry is ready to dance or transfer from W to D. Start the next one. Continue unloading the car. Take a break. Pay bills.

Move on. You should too.

PS: NEXT TIME … PRELIMINARY Book Report on the massive work by Paul Johnson. Absolutely fascinating read but a tome by any standard. It proves the adage if you don’t know history, you are doomed to repeat it. And if you THINK things are bad now, you MUST dig further back into history. Yes, AMERICAN History. WS
