Memorial Day (actual)
Well, I made an incorrect assumption putting this one together and MUST admit my mistake.
It just so happens after my research that 30 May IS the traditional & actually observed day for Memorial day or fka Decoration day.
I was in some doubt do I did the due diligence research before hand as I do not want to be posting total 100 % drivel here. I do strive for accuracy followed closely by content & thematic flow.
I was THINKING 31 May was the actual & traditional day of observance before the 1968 Uniform Monday Holiday Act but I was wrong … there … I said it.
But moving along.
Virginia was in the area and stopped around for a little bbq cookout yesterday taking advantage of Holiday rates & the five (5) course menu. Patty was off touring somewhere so they missed each other yet again.
Received a brief note from Down Unda. Emma reports in 8 degrees, winter is THERE in case you were either looking or wondering where it went and she ended with a fire cannot be built quick enough.
So yesterday it actually DID rain & I pulled in my flag putting it back out after if stopped for good. It came down and inside only slightly after darkness set in.
The flag is up again today because I feel like it. IT’S my flag, my blog and I care to still remember and am extremely grateful for all of the freedoms & liberties I have AND to the Souls that sacrificed so I (we) can enjoy them.
It only seems right and the smallest of tokens of appreciation so I really don’t care if YOU humor me or not here this time with this one. Blast me on social media IDC.
Much to do again today as the work routine/drag begins in earnest tomorrow.
In two weeks, we head to Mexico. So starting FINAL prep plans there. S/b huge fun.
Also, need to settle back into my own daily routines of project work & work outs.
