Twenty-three June Twenty-sixteen. A Thursday
Greetings adventurers, thrill seekers & the terminally bored. I don’t have much time but taking a brief break. So what else is new ? An update follows.
As stated a few millimeters ago, and often times before, I am pushed to the max time wise under incredible pressure, stress & tension. The list is long with many critical items, some not so much and finally some fun things unfortunately that will just have to wait until another time.
A new character checked in identifying self on the blog CONTACT form. Danger Dave. Very briefly for more will follow for sure, Dave was an avid cyclist before moving on to hang-gliding & paragliding. A degreed EE, very smart & worldly so Dave should fit in here nicely. NOT ‘Dangerous Dave’. Just a thrill seeker with stories & adventures.
So here are some statuses:
TRIP REPORT: Being worked (not much) and a change in tactics is being considered. But some general observations from Mexico. DO NOT believe everything, or better ANYTHING you read in US media about Mexico, Mexicans or for that matter whatever the US media is FILTERING for you to see.
We found the Mexican people to be friendly, respectful, almost shy and aside from the pesos/dollar transactions, just like me & you. Sure there are some bad apples, but take a look at Ferguson, MO. Case closed.
They are GENERALLY much better drivers. Although MX307 could be confused for US75, I35 or I20. This I think they call progress. On the other roads, which were much wider, slower traffic ALMOST ALWAYS pulled over to let faster traffic pass for there was room to do so. This was a very pleasant surprise.
YARD/JARDINS: Need to collect lettuce seeds for next season. Transplant onions. The tomatoes that I picked I took to FB were replaced here but mice, birds or some rodent got to them and then the ants were cleaning up. I am now hoping for ONE (1) fresh tomato. No trips next year to ruin this pure seasonal joy.
WINTER PROVISIONING: Thinking of Emma in Oz just now entering their winter season. Yesterday I picked bluets & afterwards stopped & Jenkins ( the farmer, not to be confused with the physican) let me pick peaches. So the bluets are undergoing freezing, alternating with peach chunks and plans for jams & cold-packing to follow.
There you have it. In addition, dips in the local lagoon on the hour to maintain 'cool', There is laundry to process and then art work when time allows. Cleaning …
Where or when does it end ?
WHEN THEY PLANT YOU, YOU DUMMY. BE THANKFUL
Thanks Mom. I needed that.
