Monday, July 1, 4 or June 34 ?

The correct answer could be All the Above. It all depends on which calendar is trending OR which one you are subscribing to.

Regardless, June 2016 is now officially over and July is here.

Yesterday, in observance of Independence Day, Virginia hit town to celebrate. She was ALL IN. We helicoptered to Addison for BIG DOINGS.

Seems one of the largest fireworks celebrations is, was & has been in Addison, Texas at the airport there. Which we took in in grand style.

There was a magnificent air show featuring restored WWII planes, immaculate & roaring to life passing over the airfield with a loud and regal majesty. The vintage flyover included a B-17, B-24 the Liberator (I believe), P-51 Mustangs and others.

When a the local radio station piped in to the small bit exclusive & elite patrons boomed out ‘Can’t Touch This’ by some silly rapper. It was enough to bring a tear to ones eye in pride.

The Kaboom Town orchestrated firework display was a full, constant and rapid thirty (30) minutes of non-stop pyrotechnics unlike any I have observed thus far. That’s right & you heard me.

A new standard for a fireworks display was set. Bigger, larger & better than even Willie Nelson’s picnic in Forth Worth a few years back. One spectacular blast, flash & boom after another. Just awesome.

We had great seats and the few & privileged were well-behaved, orderly and appreciative. We met some very nice people, socializing, smoozing & hob-knobbing. One chap, Ken, had flip-flops that had bottle openers molded into the soles. When I axed him where he got these James Bond flip-flops thinking them very cool he told me Sports Authority has them. They came in pretty handy when we traded Larry, desperate for a cold beer, we traded him one (1) cold CAN of Corona for two (2) Peroni which were in bottles. Kind of crude but it was all in fun.

In other news briefly, the new pattern cutouts are due this week at which time every spare & open minute will be put into getting samples done & completed for the Tupp’s monthly show this coming Saturday. I am looking forward to the ‘downtime’, marking up the blocks, carving, shaping, detailing & finally painting the new fish species & a new species of shorebird.

OK.

Kind of beat & run down as energy level & batteries are run down due to late nights, early mornings and long days of work as in paying work. Absolutely dreadful.

Also, I need to be picking up the bike training schedule as heat acclimation accelerates and continues.

I’ll try to keep you posted but look for much more the following week.

Happy Independence Day and Happy Birthday America.

Ka-BOOM. B-A-N-G & FLASHing sparkles.
