Greetings Fans and welcome back. Early Monday morning, it’s been a while and some water has passed under the bridge I am currently calling home.
I feel only slightly obliged to issue this report to the Faithful, the Loyal and those members paid up in full but here goes anyway.
Still battling technology. I have consulted a record number of therapistsis wrt the cell phone (fka smart, aka dumb-ass phone) and gotten as many diagnosis as therapists. One suggested meds.
Hello?
Are YOU even listening from across that couch ?
Everything from OCD, passive-aggressive to ADD & even ADHD. One even suggested post traumatic stress (PTSD) after three (3) years of ‘heavy use’.
Images are in jeporady since the 'new & improved security' link recommended by the phine pholks at google’s android division have stalled my yahoo account preventing sending ANY email now from the phone. I must try to call yahoo support today to get that ‘little’ issue resolved.
The show at Tupp’s was ho-hum. I sold one small cross to a young lady that really & truly saw the beauty in it. It was one with a knot in the center of the cross and the outside edges sanded smooth & smoother to rough nearer the knot in the center.
The whopping $10 sale paid for the two (2) extra pints consumed on site that day. Net: zero
So moving along now to the next big life event here at that would be the HH100.
For the training ride yesterday I set goals for an ‘off’ Sunday of four (4) hours & 80 km which is stretching it out with the ride a week from this coming Saturday.
My strategy is achievable. If I ride a steady 20 km, I finish in five (5) hours. Twenty-five, in four hours. I know I can average these speeds because I have done it. Factors as intangibles are rest stops, win, wrecks & excessive heat.
My plan is to ride smarter, MUCH smarter that last year and if I can beat 4.5 hours, train again to do 100 MILES in 2017. Big IFS.
Well, I started with a slight mechanical problem that became problematic after about the second hour. The shifting level most used had worked itself loose and had to be held down with one hand towards the end. This slowed me down, increased the danger and frankly simply wore me out faster.
I made 74 km and headed for the casa shortly after the three (3) hour mark. I had to even walk a spell as I feared I might be approaching renal shutdown which everyone knows could be harmful.
But I made it and rested most of the afternoon between napping & cleaning.
So today I work at 1:00. Yesterday I discovered a plastic bag of potatoes left by Patty in the pantry and frankly won’t be returned under the circumstances.
They are starting to get soft so I soaked them overnight & today I will make probably a couple of batches of Bill’s Fabuloso Scalloped potatoes and freeze them up to avoid the direct route to the compost.
In fact, if there is an image today, I will TRY to find then post an image of the finished product from the past in the archives. Viola & shazaam !!
We had some rain here on Saturday and things cooled off considerably. In fact, the water in the cement pond chilled to below ‘bath water’ or as Patty & I USED TO say, Caribbean.
Now reading two (2) LARGE books. Paul Johnson’s Birth of the Modern World Society (1815-1830) has been picked up again and just starting the UML Bible. A light 994 pages compared to Johnson’s 998 pages. I could be reading one or both of these works as life-long projects.
OK. Enough for know. Must start peeling potatoes, cleaning and begin working for the next show. This one could be huge. Instead of Tupp’s in September, that Saturday will be at Cabela’s in Allen as I believe I mentioned previously. I have decoys in various stages of completion and need to finish as many as possible. This could be thee market I have been trying to reach. Plus, there is a strong possibility for a painting commission. Very cool don’t you know.
aloha from the cloud
