This will be National Rental Property day on the new calendar, a floating secondary holiday only of minor importance. Recall years ago before 811 became a rental it was the birthplace of this blog AND the center of the universe.

Up early after a rather long evening.

Today’s image is part of what kept me up. I finished painting a grand total of five (5) tropical fish of which these two are the newest & most spectacular and interesting.

On the right is Dascyllus aranus (whitetail or Humbug damselfish) and on the left, Dascyllus melenus (blacktail or four-striped damselfish).

Very difficult to distinguish in the field or in this case underwater since they seldom hold still long enough and one must have a quick eye and know exactly what to look for.

Distinguishing features are obviously the black bands but the major diff is the tail. The aranus has the pointed white tail while the four-stripe (black tail) has rounded lobes and duh, a BLACK tail.

Another key feature, if you are diving in the western Pacific, you see Dascyllus melenus and if you are diving in the Red Sea, the Dascyllus aranus is the little beauty you see swimming. Simple & easy enough.

Again up early this day. Working much later this afternoon so must get after things early to accomplish objectives.

Scheduled for a haircut in Richardson at 10:00. Drop off some of Patty’s belongings left here in haste then right home for a bike ride, preps for the Tupp’s show on Saturday. Also must send out some job flares.

Also last night just before retiring I started reading another extremely large & complicated book.

The UML Bible is for the next job (hopefully) with the software company in Allen. My main POC & decision maker at the company is on Holiday until next week and I am going to call back, check in, ask questions and basically follow up.

I told the first ‘interviewer’ during the meeting that unlike most ‘job hunters’, I focus and aim at 'career opportunities' with places, technology & fields that I actually WANT to work in or work for.

HOW IS THAT WORKING OUT FOR YOU ?

I am struggling with my phone once again. Since the new battery/operating system install I think it also had a gender change. It beeps, flashes & charges whenever it feels like it. Last night I set it on the charger & this morning the battery is at a whopping 5%. That’s right, nearly dead.

BUY A NEW PHONE …

A new phone is not in the budget. I’ll struggle with it thank you very much. A LAN line is starting to sound better & better. The ‘smart phone’ is simple enough however now all the necessary protection, software updates and firmware issues are creating way too much havoc & aggravation. I thought technology was supposed to make ones life easier not more stressful. Is it just me ?

I am thinking maybe I simply do not need it.

And finally I see a news flash ATT lost another lawsuit. Ripping people off and a hefty fine levied. I KNEW it. I still have not received reimbursement from last fraud case.
