7 December: Day of Infamy + 75

Rare evening entry and a recap of this day and some fluff commentary. Winding down in max comfort. Think of it like a homeless bum living in a McMansion.

Still haven’t turned on the heat which would not be the case were a spouse, spousal equivalent, warden or parole officer lurking around which is fine. I have heard no complaints of snoring, too cold or no beer. All is well.

Christmas activities are on or ahead of schedule. The cards done, new return address labels are ready. First draft of the annual letter is complete but needs a little more work along the lines of trimming & polishing.

I turned off the telly in disgust. There is absolutely nothing on worth watching. At all. Last night I tried before the Stars game and got interested in a goofy show on Animal Planet. Let me correct myself & offer a funny sidebar.

So the show was squirrelly about some hillbilly bounty hunters. Then I noticed a lot of dog food commercials. What the frank is this ? Only in America. Now dogs are concerned about ‘fresh breath and tartar' on their teeth. They apparently don’t like corn ‘fillers’ either and this blue label brand has none of that vegan stuff but pork, beef, turkey & fish. Suddenly I am thinking this is better than many people are eating.

I recall my foray into the Mexican grocery store in Tizimin. It was noticeably smaller because there was no aisle of pet food and pet supplies. Totally out of hand here in the US Fans.

Winter is here. I saw on local news on telly at work 37 this morning in McK. I had 12 bunkside, 15 upper deck & 16 downstairs. It was chilly but the hot shower was what separated me from true homeless authenticity. Which was fine.

Tonight the Maple Leafs V Minny Wild from Toronto streaming and it is excellent. Knowledgeable & humorous announcing duo keeping things very lively. Tending a nice fire in the fireplace sending the crap myrtle up the chimney. Not much heat but it is burning bright and I have lots of it. Also burning the scraps from Randy that are too small to use for woodworking projects. These are pieces I cannot find a use for and Lars has had his picks and Dale as well.

I got an email from Dale today & he has made some beautiful boxes for Christmas gifts from some of the wood.

I am also painting the Canadian goose & lined butterfly fish while listening to the game & keeping an eye on the fire. Both projects are going slow but looking good.

Finally, big anniversary of bombing & attack on Pearl Harbor. I do not recall any Japanese delegation coming here ‘apologizing’ for that little maneuver.

There was a short show on History channel that said there was naturally a conspiracy and FDR knew about the attack and a Keystone Cops with communication ‘wires’ were late & missed. After the past election, who’s to say that the government even back then was holding out on the population.

The older I get, the less I become surprised AND the less I believe. I am always looking at the source and who the story NOW serves.

OK. That’s it. Out of gas.
