March First 2017
A new day dawns, a new month and a new season. Lent begins today in the form of Ash Wednesday. I had three options for Mass & ashes however due to timing, there are now only two (2) available. Should be no problem.
The sun is up & streams brilliantly into painting studios I & II. Perfect lighting and will settle there immediately after posting.
Last evening I attended a covered dish supper at Saint Michael's. A light turnout and some awkward moments being the only single male there. The youngest as well. I discovered some rifts, politics & in-fighting but all limited & civil so apparently even the Church does not escape such nonsense. Me thinks it is just some people are misfits.
Today’s image are projects completed yesterday.
The three (3) fish are the larger sergeant major, ubiquitous reef dweller, the three-bar & four band Dascyllus. I think you can figure out which is which.
Notice the base. The photo does not do it justice. The piece of wood is a superb and magnificent piece of black or American walnut. Up close there is motion and it is just stunning.
I have more project work for most of today and some could even see conclusion so stay tuned.
Also yesterday I taped off a 10 x 10 foot square on the garage floor and will come up with a floor plan for the Arts in Bloom booth. Two (2) tables, seating and the large umbrella somehow.
Speaking of AiB, yesterday I received a phone call from Jeff Leedy. Jeff is from Idaho and will be coming to McK for the show. At a meeting last week the committee asked if anyone would like to host an out of town artist so I spoke up for two (2) since I do have the room and it fits my long range B & B strategic plan.
I received a brief text from Martin from CO but no additional contact. Perhaps the no smoking, no drugs, no pets, no gays scared him away. He did say he was travelling so maybe reasons are legit.
OK. The plants all have their Wednesday watering, orange box work later this afternoon, a bike ride when we hit 16° for now two (2) consecutive days so things are grande.
The new business cards are ready for pick up & the new logo as well and while at the printers will dropped off more projects in the form of labels suitable for framing. Very exciting.
I am thinking some back deck gardening as well. Fluff up the soil, spray for the green worms fond of the greens and arrange containers after filling them with some soil-compost mixture.
I need to get going on the concrete planters pronto Tonto. Just needing to convert concept & design into a mold & then mix & pour.
There you are. Up to date & up to the minute.
