Monday/Three-seventeen
Another overcast, windy and chilly morning as I begin the journey. The path is partially obscured by fog, the rest in a cloud. As I approach I notice that it IS all the same and the mist is uncertainty.
I awoke with some degree of difficulty this day. The weather without question is causing some of the issues. Too chilly and wet really for any fun things outdoors however there are plenty of things in the form of projects to spend time with inside in a semi-sedentary position.
Yesterday I bounced comms with FB as baby due now within days. She a countdown in hours and I don’t know why. Then the FUN truly begins with diapers, feedings and 24/7 attention until they get their drivers license and THEN it get WORSE. Praying everything turns out well.
I think next I am going to make a small fire with a couple of objectives. First of course as always to knock off the edge of cold and warm up marginally the downstairs studio. The second reason is to create more space in the garage studio by burning the last of the scrap wood from Randy. There will also be more cuttings to follow as last week I picked up an ample supply of the weathered pickets for processing (cutting) into pieces & parts for frames & other projects. So retiring to Studio G will be very soon. Move Silver out and then the fun begins. I will be overwhelmed with things to work on for sure.
This day I must also spend more than normal time with the job search. My former employer has many openings and I have applications in maxed out at five (5). I am thinking one in particular to drop to create space for the next ‘hot’ one.
Which COULD BE signs for The Fish Shacks. That’s right. I had lunch there on Friday and might not have mentioned Frank said he wants TWO (2), that’s DOS, if you are keeping score at home.
Right amongst all the AiB (Arts in Bloom) preparations & projects. But it's all good.
At 10:00 I have an executive team leadership telecon with the MAST director. Working with & getting things done with artists is WORSE than herding cats. Cats you could just shoot or drop in a river tied tightly in a bag.
I have discovered most, nearly ALL, talk a very good game but when it comes to rolling up the sleeves and actually PERFORMING collective ‘W-O-R-K’, not so much. Lazy seems to be a pandemic trait or character flaw.
Report to the orange box in the afternoon and home early evening with ALL DAY OFF tomorrow reporting next 7:00 am Wednesday.
Image today in case you are wondering is recently completed ‘project’ aka logo for Bill’s b&b, gallery & studios. Smallish lettering will surround the block or box depending on how you want to view the colored image. This will go on the tour guide, catalog, return address labels, business cards perhaps, stationary, letterhead, t-shirts and anything else the Marketing staff deems fit & so worthy.
So that is all for today. Brief I know but I needed a mental warm-up to begin in earnest.
