Bill here and we're on fire and taking on water. The ship is shifting, listing severely and after a few attempts, some slight progress was noted however some heads up so as not to be alarmed or concerned.

First, this is the FIRST TIME for whatever (aka unknown) reason I have even been able to get into the site let alone make an entry.

I have a problem, which is actually TWO problems with the machine that MAY cause a new purchase. I took it to a place yesterday and the tech said 'wasn't work fixing' the broken hinge. He had seen this issue with HP's before and explained the problem very well.

The issue of pop-ups and malware was another (costly) issue but now that might not be an issue. Could be a speed issue with the new ISP so standby there. It COULD also be a hard drive issue so just sit tight.

Bottom line, dropping off the grid for a spell. For 'got's to have news', direct email only until things settle & get sorted out.

I will say the amazon project took a step yesterday. I tracked down professor John H Williams late of Indiana State U who authored a book on Paraguay that brackets the time period I am researching. After calling the history department, I found out he is deceased but I got contact information from ISU/history dept on his widow. I called her twice in SC leaving brief vmms and will write her a letter here next with introduction and see if she can give me an assist with the research project.
