24 April

Beautiful, ABSOLUTELY beautiful morning here at the cloud. Birds sing, the sun rises thru the trees forming new & completely different shadow patterns in living area dos not seen in some time.

I have today completely off of work at the orange box and the plan is to go NOWHERE but hang here at the castle and engage domestically for a real treat.

I mean it is like being a type II diabetic in a candy store with a backpack full of insulin AND syringes.

I slept exceeding well last night. Windows open, marvy, marvy, marvy. Greatest of suppers. I whipped up sauce with estate oregano-grown both dried & fresh and had a regional pasta from Napoli, Italy called tagliatelle. A slightly wider than normal (?) noodle that is formed into a ‘snowball’ about the size of a golf ball. Of course when cooked it expands & is just about right for a smallish solitary serving.

I found an article that instructed a novice how to cook killer pasta like at an Italian citizen and I am going to have it again tonight with a salad and probably a cellared chianti. Bread tbd.

But MAYBE an appetizer with olive oil, balsamic vinegar & fresh cracked peppers. Maybe I’ll take the appetizer in the hot tub mid-afternoon ? Time will tell.

I have a load of laundry already going and piping hot black coffee as I sit watching, waiting for the shadows to move and writing this brief account. My watch is temporarily lost here in what can best be classified as a debris field. I’ll address & attack that issue later.

Another issue to address from the List is the new printer. While in the office/den/study/library dos I can file, clean & organize in that area. A process called tidying up.

The job search is another high priority. Some developments rose last week that are requiring attention this morning. Time zones are all four across the country and I strategised over the weekend at every opportunity even walking the aisles at HD.

I mean ESPECIALLY at those times. The pounding of the concrete floors is beginning to take a toll I am noticing with myself. I am thinking that anyway and time for a change is ripe. When I mentioned it to FB, she says get new ‘good shoes’. My reply was ‘how about a new JOB?’

I am making great progress on another red knot. That would be the shore bird with the longest migratory route and not a communist hangman.

I also need to complete painting of the Thinornis novaeseelandie as that is a little payday waiting to happen and it is ever so close.

There is gardening. A large lettuce crop is perfect & MUST be harvested today and a meal tonight. There are at least 4-5 different types with a few leafs ready to trim off.

Organize the plants already in containers for max sun and I am thinking a replant on the beans may be in order. A good watering/feeding will boost production.

On Friday Martha W forwarded contact information from another professor to reach out to on the amazon studios project. Currently at UGa in the history department and one of his major books brackets the time period I am looking at.

If I have mentioned previously that I received the book from my buddy Clay I apologize. Vox populi is a splendid read and of the style & type I am needing at the moment.

I must, MUST get a short note card out to him in today’s post telling him how much I like it. We still have a golf date pending & hanging out there.

Speaking of golf (?), I got an invite for Thursday morning in Arlington at Rolling Hills. I made an error reading the calendar work v social/pleasure. I am off all day NEXT Thursday and expressed or gave the impression it was THIS Thursday. So we start at 9:20 which according to Mike will finish in time to get to work at 3:00 PM. Going to go for it regardless.

Tomorrow off again ALL DAY but a plan is in place. Must appear in Fort Worth at Colonial CC to pick up the 2017 tournament volunteer's packet. I plan to stop & see Martha for sure and perhaps Dale.

Suddenly my cup is as empty as my tank of inspiration, material and motivation.

The sun is up a smidgeon and one spot is noticably brighter certainly a theophany.

‘Bill, move along …’
