29 April
Penultimate but perhaps thee last report for April. A double prime day, a Saturday and a brief recap follows of yesterdays accomplishments & activities. Things started early opening at the orange box to be known now going forward as 6502.
I arrived to find catastrophe in MY department, D27 electrical. Seems an overnight freight handler, rumor was the night manager, was putting up a large cabinet on an upper most self and hit a fire sprinkler setting it off raining on the false fire and ruining all kinds of merchandise on aisles 38 to 44.
It happened around 1:00 am I was told so by 6:00 most of the water was gone. In a word it was a mess. Rather Mess.
People were running around in a panic like it was an emergency. When the store manager showed up later he was not happy. I don’t imagine the night manager slept too well during the day either.
One of my favorite (NOT) assistant managers actually posted images of the high water & damage on face book. What an idiot she is. Someone’s daughter & little girl again from the quidnoc aka rumor monger.
I am letting it drop here now as it is of no concern to me. I did what I was told as a grunt, drone or worker bee and when they asked if I wanted to stay & ‘work over’, it was ‘no thanks. I have some things planned.’
Like my PTSD flossing support group.
I came straight home, left Silver out of studio uno (l) and engaged myself fully & totally for the rest of the day on projects.
I carved on shorebirds to replenish inventory. Spent a lot of time working on the mold for the large concrete planters. I must report progress is forward but because of the nature of the project, it is very slow going, very complex and complicated.
There is an outer mold basically a box and a second box which is the inner part of the mold and will form the planter walls & cavity. So I make two small steps, take a step back and assess, evaluate, ponder and re-evaluate. Measure, put it together, think what the next step(s) is or are and it goes on.
During a beer break, I spotted Irv and observed a confirming incident.
He darted out from the hedge onto the driveway, stopped and I saw a fairly large insect walking (strolling, scampering, crawling ?) across the surface. Irv hesitated, I assumed to take aim with the heat seeker and in a blink had the little beastie in his mouth. Talk about uber quick. Like lightning.
Then he (Irv) did that reptilian roll that alligators & croc’s do like you see on telly. Just like on the Nat Geo channel or Swamp People and the bug was gone.
So, confirmed. Lizards do eat insects as I SAW it so they are good and keep them around let them do their job.
I actually got a return call from Ace Bees. The cost of the service of bee removal has sky-rocketed to $400. I told Shirley that was kind of steep and we discussed it. I had used them before with success but the bees are back in a second location close to the first.
Inside tasking included finishing off a batch of mustard. A double batch so I could break off some for ‘specialty / gourmet’ jars. Bill's Horseradish delight and Bill’s NEW Maker’s Mustard flavored with guess what ? BOURBON !!
I guaranty that you WILL taste the Maker’s in this exclusive new premium product offering. I can’t wait to sample it. First taste test in three (3) days.
Finished up a batch of sauerkraut in a jar. This pro-biotic is without question thee best and most pleasant surprise of anything I have ever done. So easy, delicious AND good for your GI tract. With three (3) simple ingredients, it’s like Vegemite. It simply cannot go bad.
That’s pretty much it.
After dark & a late supper of DIY pizza, a couple of episodes of the Lone Ranger and bedtime.
This morning, the wind is blowing strong and steady. It is still very dark at 8:00. Agenda includes house work/domestic chores, laundry x2, finish painting a couple of projects, some reading, Mass at 5:00 and report to close 6502.
