Quince de Mayo 2017

Or working title could have been the Ides of May but it matters not for it is today. This date in 1988 I/we began a journey. I say ‘we’ for it was not me alone. It was my young Family and the journey was uprooting from the comfortable little estate we had settled on 4.5 acres in very rural & verdant New York.

That’s correct. On This Day in History I accepted the offer to relocate to the Dallas Field Sales office for my employer named at the time Amphenol. It still is but when I started it was Bendix which is now long gone.

Anyway, more on this sad historical account perhaps NEXT year.

Up early raring, rearing AND roaring to go.

MUST call U of F at earliest & first as in East coast time zone. Requesting a copy of unpublished thesis on Francia by the late JH Williams. I have been in touch with his widow Mrs W, since remarried and another Martha, and spoken to her on the phone. A delightful lady, energized and full of life. She has given me all the permissions I need to copy & use any of John’s material AND even encouraged & wished me luck on the project. (! = to my surprise)

Then at 9:00 MUST head to the bank to deposit checks. Nice ones. Very large but will evaporate quickly. Insurance check for the new roof & the first half of Uncle John & Aunt Romy’s estate inheritance also will not last long enough.

With that segway, next item on the agenda is Job Search. An intriguing op on indeed.com this morning MUST be pursued with zest & vigor.

Bike ride, other domestic calls then once again THD work interfers this afternoon into early evening. Six LONG hours but payday this week and the rupees will be stretched as far as possible.

Yesterday at work I met a co-workers daughter who happens to be an artist. She does very cool jewelry. We talked for a long time and I gave her a card.

That’s it. No image again today. No tickey, no washy.

Send $$$ por favor.

Save a struggling arteest.
