Dean & DeLuca Invitational 5.23.17
In position for the 2017 Dean-DeLuca Invitational at Colonial in Fort Worth. The Pro-am is tomorrow and I will shortly sign off & retire after setting redundant alarms. The internet connection here at the seminary is slower than I remember and my patience is running on fumes.
A couple of events on the way over are worth mentioning barely.
I stopped at a Race Track for a coke for the on-board beverage cart to splash in some Makers for the ride over. While inside I decided a snack or some sustenance might be in order and Race Track had a sign for ‘pork egg rolls’ so I got two and paid for the coke & egg rolls before jumping on SH121 for the ride West.
I got the smart phone radio all tuned in, running thru the blutooth and was enjoying the ride when I had the accident.
WHAT !!
Yes. It had rained and perhaps it was still sprinkling so traffic had begun to stop-go (repeating). I was in the fast lane when I got hit from behind. I limped over and began instantly assessing the situation.
A scan of the rearview was telling. The driver behind me was already getting his wallet out and insurance information for the driver behind him who had rammed him. I was the third one in but in the front of it all and when I got out, saw no damage said ‘see yeah’ and promptly took off with no damage.
SO IT WASN’T EVEN A FENDOR BENDER … FLAIR FOR DRAMA YOU THINK ?
No. I don’t make this up. Embellishment, a cited & documented personality flaw, I am working on.
I had put some mustard on one of the ‘egg rolls’which ended up in my lap and now mustard was everywhere. The ‘egg rolls’ themselves were pathetic. It was a hot dog wrapped in a dough square that would have been tasteless were the dough not overly sugary sweet. Don’t know what I was thinking OR expecting from such Oriental cuisine served up at Race Track.
Shame on me and now lights out until tomorrow.
