Father’s Day 2017
Double-dip this Day. Missed a significant numerical patterned day yesterday with 6-17-17 but oh well. It had to happen and so we missed it. Heard from Emma, all is well sort of, and other items more in the public domain follow and are conveniently updated.
Father’s day obviously stays on the calendar, this year the birthday of El Supremo just happens to fall on the third Sunday so BINGO. Do we REALLY need excuses to celebrate people ?
NO.
Good.
Tomorrow is the ARB hearing on my outrageous property tax assessment increases. It will or should be all over by 12 noon CST. Then I relax and start making more serious plans for the rest of my natural life. Friday I was in the extreme dark depths of a very bad place but pulled out of it leveling off just under 10 km.
Last night I went to a singles Mass at Saint Ann’s in Coppell. What a beautiful compound. The bulletin boasts a ‘vibrant Catholic community' and it truly is. Large, magnificent & nothing but tastfully short of opulent.
I think I must make another field trip there for a COMPLETE review of the interior, grounds and programs when time is better and not so … what ? Pressing ?
The meal at the mixer was really good and an open bar. I mean nirvana in a Catholic setting.
I actually made some friends. Julio from Lima which is in Peru. He moved here from Salt Lake City about three (3) weeks ago. A Mechanical Engineer just starting out his career and viewing it as the great adventure.
Sherry & Theresa sat at our table & we chatted it up and visited. Sherry sat down next to me a Mass and Theresa was her friend so we all socialized. Julio actually had much more courage than I getting up & out on the dance floor.
I could not drink enough to do THAT. The bar was stacked with a very nice selection of beers and wine but no Makers. I was safe.
On the way out I was cornered by an obnoxious drunk. The guy noticed & commented on my shirt & axed if I was a golfer. The questions came fast, were on point but loud and wild. I answered them calmly & politely as a professional would before disengaging & heading for the
casa.
So I woke up early and got in a 3.5 hr ride, 60 km (39.9 m) which is close enough to the program for 40. The wind was a knock down and made for a tough ride.Home & relaxing.
S1 coming over for a cook out & swim. I had a cornish game hen & sides planned & will follow thru even tho he said he was going to bring the cook out things.
S/b fun.
Next entry ?
God only knows and he hasn’t shared that even with me yet.
