We are now officially smack dab in the throes of the ‘dead days’ at mid-year. Hanging, relaxing and the pursuit of Happiness at full throttle here at the castle-on-the-hill or the cloud depending on your relative position.
Cheers to things going your way & going well in your little corner of Paradise Self.
I worked early this morning and gave the company a good eight (8) hours with a clear conscience. Off all day tomorrow which is Monday before reporting again Tuesday, the Holiday 1 or 4 July before resuming the conventional numbering scheme.
You may feel free to call it a ‘time shift’ or even a time ‘warp’ because guess what ? July 5th it will be … drum roll por favor, 5 July!! The calendars will have mysteriously been synched up once again. The official proclamation will be to ‘forget about it and go forward’. Just pretend that you got blistering drunk and don’t recall ANY of it.
I mean people do it ALL the time.
After getting out & home, my priority became processing peaches picking up where I left off. I peeled & chopped up a tray of chunks for IQF (individuals quick frozen). These morsels will be tossed into oatmeal in December or January or into a shake. Then I took the four (4) cups of finely chopped from yesterday and cooked them, placed them into jars and sealed them in the water bath.
Tomorrow’s processing agenda will be quarters & halves of the 2017 peach crop and a quick turn around for probably the last of the blueberry jam.
The peach conserves include a Makers-peach-cranberry almond and a spiced peach coconut which should be stunning. There was a tiny bit left that wouldn’t fill a jar so I let that cool before placing it into the refrigerator.
Tomorrow I shall sample a coconut peanut butter and peach jam wheat tortilla roll up. I just KNOW it will be fabuloso.
Mow the lawn, get a longer training ride in and some back yard work like watering & transplanting.
Weeding. You know the drill. The crap never seems to stop. As the day winds down & the castle cools, A double feature of Get Smart. Laugh a minute.
And of course the little things that come & and the mail could bring a new challenge and change things completely.Job search, plan.
Tuesday THD usually puts on a little celebration lunch in appreciation to those that work the Holiday shifts. Hot dogs & hamburgers off one of the grills. Drinks, chips and it usually goes on for an extended lunch period. Sort of eases the pain so to speak.
OK. Until next time.
