Ate-teen July

We have officially entered the dog days of summer. I caught a glimpse of a weather report on the new large telly at work and it is thee weather pattern that DRIVES people here out of town. And that is …

Triple digit days, lows overnights 78 and no chance of rain for the next 10-12 days except maybe a late afternoon pop-up shower.

It is an OFF day from the orange caja and I am standing quietly on the platform of Procrastination station. I should NOT be writing as I have domestic chores to attack which I will get to after today’s essay update & short story.

Shortly after the last report, I received a electronic text message from Houston that I would be receiving visitors THIS weekend and to start scrubbing down the casa as the Nanton IV were going to load up the wagon & head North.

That I have to clean is both an understatement & a given. No secret(s). But I am thinking that with my work schedule as it is and stands, I can do it with strategic planning and smart cleaning.

So there are things that need to be done FIRST & gotten out of the way, and SECONDARY tidying which will make this dreaded tasking easy & enjoyable.

Here’s the Plan.

Set the wrist-watch-timer for 30 minutes. One hour is too long. WAY too long.

Start & stay in one room, area or engage in ONE (1) activity for the whole (entire) time until the the timer goes off. Take a dip in the cement pond to cool off.

Reset timer for another half-hour in another room or activity and just keep repeating.

But as always be smart about it. As with laundry, DO NOT sit idly and WAIT for the load to FINISH, then fold & put away. Engage in CONCURRENT operations. We DO NOT USE ‘multi-tasking’ here at the cloud for it shows TRUE IGNORANCE. We prefer concurrent operations.

I am enjoying the Benjamin Franklin book thanks for asking.

HOW’S THE BENJAMIN FRANKLIN BOOK ?

It’s taking some getting used to but thanks for asking.

The learned people of the day (early 18th century) wrote and spoke a bit differently than today and the patterns are taking some time to adjust & get accustomed to. My favorite is still John L Stephens, early to mid-1800’s for ease of reading but now I am in the midst of digression + procrastination.

Early B.F. was a sparkler close to genius. I see a little of myself in his wisdom & wit.

When he is older, I am understanding he was a different character but in the earlier years in the print shop he was a ball of fire. Without question his best work AND a very sharp business man.

OK. The dryer just shut off, the timer is about to go so IOW time to move along.

At least you got a report.

O. BTW, Emma checked in. I would like to start negotiations with her to start capturing events and the swirl around her life. It is somewhere between a typhoon & a twister. Put’s this humble & meager existence, this collective assembly of characters & events to pale.

Finally in addition to Emma add Mom to prayer list. I know she doesn’t really need it and sometimes I feel soliciting for prayer(s) is totally uncalled for, out of place & uncouth but I am guessing it is OK.

Mom took a hard fall & spent an evening or better an overnight in a hospital for look-sees.

Life-style changes include using a cane & slowing down in order to enjoy more ‘good years’.

Took a long training ride this morning. Probably has something to do about lingering at The Station.

Over three (3.25) hours, 65 k, gruelling in the morning heat and afterwards down under 160 (159.8) lbs.

Getting a coin to toss … kitchen or downstairs (community) bathroom ? Always the first AND closest inspection.

But the plan is sound and solid. I can have it spiffed up in 30 minutes with the right playlist (set of tunes) and a cold Mexican beer. I am thinking an icy Modelo. Followed by a Tecate. Or perhaps a Pacifico ?

I know, I'll run out for some beer !! Get some Tecate Light for company !!

Ah, the choices. It’s ALL about the choices.
