10 - 10 - 17
Here we go fans. This is like that gambling machine image, cherries 7-7-7 but with the first two 10’s, the third number rolls around to 17. LOSER !!
Grandpa Jack told me at a very young age ‘Do not gamble’. And I never did. Except for a brief spell ( aka ‘addiction’) playing various lotteries. I thankfully avoided THAT 12-step program.
Anyway, after hitting a small one once ($600 +), I started keeping track and lost it ALL BACK then some. At this time I had finished my undergraduate work which included a statistics course and mathematical gaming probability and when I realized WHO the winner was, IE government aka organized criminals of the highest degree, I immediately stopped.
From the news wire … for your entertainment, education & enlightenment … por favor.
And from the sports world …
Big news here is the changing of the seasons. Last night windows all wide open and had to pull up the quilt by morning as it was a bit chilly. But nice sleeping. It was 20C when I woke to read a bit & pray, 16 in the am when I was more ready to roll out so it was a fairly beautiful day here today.
I have been on this stupid machine off & on most of the day. Finished and delivered the completed American golden plover in the non-breeding plumage cashing the commission check thank you very much.
So let’s make this shorebird today's image shall we?
Not all that rare but color photos are hard to find. I used almost exclusively a small thumbnail painting of this bird in Sibley’s Field Guide.
I am very pleased with the way it turned out and I have toyed with the idea this morning of doing another one while painting schema & colors are fresh in my mind.
Made a fab supper last night. Black rice, stir fried with pork and vegetables on hand. Bok choy, greens & stalks, carrots, onions, (red & white), mushrooms. It was really good and I have enough left over for 5 (FIVE !) more meals !! Really good.
MAST, the McKinney Art Studio Tour, is a short four (4) weeks away so things are gearing up for that big annual event. Submitted and updated bio, profile & statement today along with images & captions for the website.
Spent some time on a large sculpture in the garage earlier. Doing a surface treatment of the habitat base and holding pattern now for the glue to set overnight. Had to hurry up to wait. Probably same process tomorrow. When the base gets done, it will fall together in a few minutes & be done.
I am thinking this decorative architectural piece will retail about $5-600. I can almost assure you it will be stunning.
Clues … a tropical fish, a large piece of native crap myrtle and the pre-made but TEXTURED base.
Image will appear here rest assured.
I am picking up the pace on Thomas Jefferson. Reached the halfway mark this morning and now getting anxious to finish & get into something else. In fact, ANYTHING else NOT history related. Two in a row makes one weary back-to-back.
Oh, BIGGER news … the Pottery Barn Christmas catalog is out AND has arrived !! Must breeze thru and report if it contains any of the white cast coral for tropical fish habitat I am just crazy about.
Standby on that.
Well I guess that’s about all you paid for today.
Sorry.
Til next time.
