17 O 17
I’m liking the new options & opportunities this new nomenclature of month abbreviations are allowing fans. It was a simply grande day so let’s jump in, swim around & stir up the pot before the broth settles.
Late yesterday afternoon after getting Silver inspected, I left him, what’s left of him, parked outside the garage while I started the next production lot of shorebirds.
I happened to look over and from underneath the hood some liquid is dripping out and has formed a large puddle spot.
My first impression was the delightfully pierced & tattooed mechanics, SORRY !! Technicians has messed something up. I touched the liquid, no oily, greasy or slippery feel; clear and a small touch to the tongue was tasteless so it could have been water. It appeared to be dripping from the radiator.
I immediately canceled the plan to hit the range to hit some balls opting closer to home due to the uncertainty with Silver. In the morning I would crawl slowly to the dealership and get him check out for peace of mind if nothing else.
I had the phone interview at 7:00 am and that went well. They ALL seem to go well but no offers yet.
Another story for another time.
I was going to put some water into the radiator but first checked and there was no liquid on the floor and taking off the radiator cap show it full of rusty water as it should be.
I felt marginally better and more confident but proceeded to the dealership carefully none the less.
My service buddy Pete was promoted to manager & now my new ‘automotive counselor’ is Oscar., a very jovial & pleasant Hispanic lad.
I explained to Oscar my suspicions and he took the keys to check it out. I am thinking a quick look and out.
But nearly three (3) HOURS later, my patience running thin, Silver bolts out.
On the way I ring up S1 to see if he had plans or can help me with the protracted fence job at GDunc’s and he has plans so I alter my plan heading for a quick stop at the cloud, change cloths and get to the job site. Solo once again.
I finished and got all of the zip ties in and secure so I started nipping them off. Physical ailments starting to overtake me about 2:00 so I rationalized stopping for the day BEFORE I got too sore & beat-up so as another ‘off’ day would be required. Plus any longer the trip home would hit school buses and that traffic mess.
Besides, tomorrow I can get an earlier jump and it seems to go quicker just nipping off the excess so I can get started earlier, set the timer for one (1) hour increments and run to completion.
I really want to wrap up it tomorrow before Gary gets home Thursday night so I can go to the Great State Fair of Texas Thursday during the day. Seniors get in free Thursday. I figure I can walk around & drink my admission saved and head for home. Is THAT a plan or what ?
Senior Day at the Fair !! Who EVER thought …
Should be interesting hanging out with a ‘fast crowd.’ Chicks, not so sure on that front but hey, you NEVER know.
I made a smashing supper. Recall the Cornish hen I freed from the freezer last Thursday ? I needed to cook it and boy did I.
Into the little porcelain roaster she goes, some liquid stock material for broth, carrots, chopped bok choy, yellow squash chunks, onions, stuffed the cavity with lime and rosemary, NaCl & ground black pepper topping it off with tomato juice opened for the stuffed pepper experiment next later in the week and cooked the little bird IAW the package directions and used the same test for doneness as the turkey. When the drumstick turned free, it was done.
I bought some fresh wheat flour tortillas and had two vegetarian fajitas first and they were fab. Then I made one with mostly fowl and bok choy greens and it was insanely delish. So good I had a second and them put the roaster back into the over to cool to room temperature overnight.
I should be able to get 4-5 decent meals out of that little bird the final one a smashing soup. Vegetables with the broth a hint of tomato and the hen bits of meat.
I really surprised myself once again. It helps to be hungry enough to eat the tongue off of a shoe I must admit.
Today’s image is the most recently completed project, a MAJOR piece.
For $500, you can pick any one of the completed tropical fish here at Woody’s menagerie. For $600 I’ll select three (3) for you.
There are small holes in the base & the habitat so the position of the fish can be changed and moved. Pretty cool I am thinking.
I guess that’s all for now folks.
You will want to stay tuned for Bill's Thursday adventure to the Great State Fair of Texaaaaassssssssssssssssss!!!
next entry. PROMISE !!
