O 27 Seventeen

Excuse me Fans as it has been five (5) days since my last indiscretion and here are my activities, errors, mistakes and plans. Flights departing Procrastination International aeropuerto are delayed.

That is the excuse & story I am going to stick to.

It seems winter arrived last night under the cover of darkness. Windy and chilly, the sun is now rising also behind schedule. I must mention that it is not cold and I would even say that it is not uncomfortabIe but just on the other side of the line separating gentle warmth and slightly chilly.

The wind gusts rattles windows and howls as the trees dance. The casa is otherwise serenly quiet as Mother Nature means business.

Finished the deep scholarly treatment on Thomas Jefferson. It was a tough read but I concur with the critics and the historians that TJ was brilliant and a genius AND I see many similarities between Tom & myself. He certainly was consistent, he had his priorities in order and his entire life persued excellence and happiness.

His thoughts and theories on education were ahead of his time and still apply OR are in use today. I thought of Br3 often and have made a point to ‘reach out’ and contact Mike E about attending U Va which he is an alum and Jefferson founded.

Moving along them …

Yesterday I addressed Firsts & Second tier priorities.

When I was working in the corporate world swimming in that cesspool, such as I am about to describe was a ‘pop up’ requirement. You should contextually comprehend and easily see the extrapolation to this as a ‘pop up’ OPPORTUNITY.

Remember the old radio & telly shows … ‘calling all cars, calling all cars’ broadcast in the dull drab monotone ?

Such was the email I along with 46 others received mid-week .

‘Calling all artists, the annual Art Gala at El Dorado CC Saturday night is in need of centerpieces. Anyone with 3-D sculptures drop off at … also, volunteers needed …’

WAIT A MINUTE … VOLUNTEER at a CC ?

I am at attention, now standing up & saluting.

Recall I recently completed major piece for MAST ? Well, that one is going & I have FIVE (5) more smaller pieces I will take along with some literature for the event. I will be there cleaned up & ready to work when I drop off the large piece, check security & suitability of the others and report for some light lifting keeping the periscope up for playing privlidges.

What? You think I suddenly l turned s-t-u-p-i-d ?

Looking forward to that.

I got lost in the garage cleaning & organizing that studio for MAST and also spent considerable time in the design & manufacture of two (2) utilitarian tables in my own turn of the century style or if you prefer Swiss family Robinson meets Robinson Crusoe.

I was listening to an audiobook and like reading a book, it took some acclimating to get the feel for teh story, characters, setting etc. So I was near-totally absorbed.

One project is a higher working table for the painting studio while the second a lower, more robust and wider table similar to an over-sized coffee table to be used more as a plant stand near the windows. All reclaimed wood and I would certainly halt any discussion of either piece being tagged ‘furniture’ grade because they are strictly performing a FUNCTION in each case.

From reclaimed & recycled wood so any spillage, overflow or drainage won’t be a factor. If I tire of either one AND the winter gets rough, they go into the fireplace one piece at a time.

So there you have it.

I would love, love, love to finish ONE table today but other duties beckon.

And one can never rule out of forget the probability of a ‘pop up’.

Opportunity OR requirement.
