First entry for the month of N. Very quickly two (2) images and a very brief set of comments this day for all the usual alibis.
Last evening I went to an ‘arts’ meeting sponsored by the City of McK for the Arts in Bloom (AiB) festival in April. Kind of a joke & waste of time but that is another story delving into things political, people asking the most obvious (aka dumbest) questions AND THEN others insisting on debating them.
Afterwards, I drove to visit S1, aka Br12, to watch the World Series. Game 7 was a thriller and the good guys won.
The Houston Astronauts, fka the Colt 45’s, this morning and for the next year are world Champions and they deserve it.
We watched a bit of the post game and players were rightfully joyous, very happy and humble all acknowledging the Fans and the City of Houston.
Now let’s face it & be brutally honest here. The city of Houston is a pit and there is much to dislike OR complain about for example traffic. But there is now a 'SPIRIT'.
The CHARACTER of the populace exhibited during Hurricane Harvey was special. So many people got whacked hard and others, strangers mostly, pitched in, got after it and began the large, dirty task of cleaning up and got it done. Some are still cleaning up and living with hardships. NO ONE screaming for Federal aid or the government didn't do enough blah, blah, blah.
They rolled up sleeves and attacked the Plan. This is admirable.
I am happy for Nolan Ryan who now has a WS ring and all of the younger players that seem to get what’s going on and their respective roles. Most behaved well & with elements of true class.
None of this ‘taking a knee’ or fist raising for ‘social injustice’ crap.
I am a Astro fan now right after the Sox.
And again honestly the Red is fading.
The truly great Red Sox players of the past are simply not being replaced by anything close. Close to the likes of Ted Williams or Yaz. It ended with F Lynn when he followed the money and ended up a 'journeyman' where he could have ended up in Cooperstown & the baseball HOF.
Can't blame him for it was his decision and NOT JUDGING at all just making the STATEMENT.
I don't SEE a current Red Sox player worthy talent wise but the Astros certainly have some younger players with that POTENTIAL. Worth watching coming out of Spring training as Champions.
The prime image today barks back to the previous entry slamming pagan holiday aka halloween.
Phillip, the neighbor across the street, is most likely not responsible for such nonsense. I have only spoken to him 1 or 2-3 times and recently a girl friend is spotted in, around, coming or going but I am NOT the nosey neighbor.
Anyway, in addition to the fluttering ghosts and other decors, there is SOUND. A low moaning or howling that the first time I noticed it during the day light hours was a surprise (whisky tango foxtrot) like where is THAT coming from and then I quickly sorted it out.
Go back to the previous entry if you need further details, explanations or history on this issue.
Meanwhile, I am going to post and get back to making the gallery ready for NEXT WEEKEND and the ‘really big shoe’.
Ed Sullivan said it that way.+
