12 M 18

A Monday & adjusting to the new time scheme, sleep pattern(s) and the altered daylight hours. It seems all good and it is. Finally some time to breath and start getting caught up, change of the seasons, routines and the mind set.

HOW’S YOU MOM ?

She’s fine Nancy. WE are LETTING HER REST. Comfortably.

Thanks for asking.

Still a lingering chill this morning but the sun is warming things up pleasantly in the conservatory.

Today a few phone calls and lots of art work.

I got the habitat base for the Achilles tang sculpture together yesterday & it looks good and solid enough to support the fish which is not surprising but a whew (!) moment with such things. More relief.

I worked on the fish yesterday before hitting the wall. I think today is highly probable for a completion.

Yesterday I had put all of the projects into a small basket to carry into the garage and as I was doing so one dropped out and hit the floor with that sickening crack I have learned to shudder at. One of the little tangs fell out and the tail broke in two places. I found one piece and got it glued back no problem but the second piece is NO WHERE to be found. Must now spend extra time to create & repair. Not hard just time consuming. When it’s done, even I won’t be able to tell the tail had been broken.

I feel compelled to rewind and rehash a bit from Saturday.

The carving lesson/demonstration was a bust. After traffic issues, wrecks on 75 southbound, I finally found the site. I made a mental note of a place right next door called the rock barrel and went into Wood World or World of Wood whatever.

First thing I noticed was all the items for sale AND the prices on some of the wood. Some were simply in a word outrageous. I kept telling myself that this was a business and THEIR business but FOR SURE I was NOT BUYING. Anything.

I wandered thru a small maze before finding the ‘cheese’ … a small classroom and peeked in. I did not like what I saw.

WHAT’D YOU SEE ?

Well, it looked like a mushroom festival or a box of pears spilled out all over. I saw older people with little else to do nor much motivation to do anything else. I felt no energy and with the weather being so nice, the store of more interest next door and many, many more AND better things to do at home, I completed a circuitous lap taking notes on what they carried just in case I ever might need anything before exiting and proceeding to the Rock Barrel next door and was amazed.

HOW SO ?

There were a lot of people and a HUGE inventory. A SPECTACULAR selection of beads, minerals and assorted tools, materials & everything between related. In some ways it was way better than the show two weeks ago in Grapevine where the vendors were mostly Asian selling bead strings and other materials. Here one got the impression questions would yield answers of a much higher caliber.

Today’s date again conceals some numerical codex. Think Br12 & Br 18 the dynamic scoring duo from the Bladerunners.

Here is a link to a story from Japan. Wild hogs are a PROBLEM somewhere else on the planet besides Texas. I see an easy solution to world hunger AND an outlet for the gun fans that are in need of something living to shoot with their assault rifles.

Then haul them to a processing plant where student meat cutters could process to homeless and the hungry and everyone receives government credit, stipends or subsidy.

I got to go.

I so want to paint and get a nice longer bike ride in today when it warms up.

Warming up sounds so good right now.

Look for image NEXT time but NOT tomorrow the 13th.

The 13 will ALWAYS or SHOULD BE a day off. Tuesday, you MUST be Ruby ...
