Beautiful day underway here and taking a break, timeout if you will, from a highly stressful and arduous task. Emma checks in so read on for details Fans.
SO WHAT’S THE TASK THAT HAS YOU SO WORKED UP?
Well, the 2018 Appraisal Protest. I mean these people are out of their BLASTED minds. And after struggling, TRULY STRUGGLING using all of my patience AND computer skills battled, BATTLED and WON.
Between password resets, security questions and on top of everything else losing the ‘internet connection’, I have been driven to the verge of drink … ALREADY … BEFORE Breakfast.
HOWEVER, I am pressing forward.
Emma sent a brief message from Down Unda. Without going into great details and respect for privacy & security, remembering her in prayers at this time would be welcome and helpful.
Yesterday was the Second (2nd) Annual Saint Michael's golf tournament at the fabulous Dye course in Stonebridge Ranch. Always a treat to play a great course and the weeks of practicing, perseverance and persistence paid off. Our team finished at -3 (69) which wasn’t even close to placing however we each had moments of great shots and good times. The weather was warm but about perfect.
Something about standing on a tee box, with a narrow fairway and seemingly impossible landing area, to set up and NAIL it when the team needs it is just about as good as it gets. Obviously we made a few putts and on good greens it is easier to get & keep the ball on line and when they drop in, life IS good.
Just got a text msg with video of Mikey taking some first steps. He walks like a sailor with the deck pitching for a few steps then promptly sits down on the soft padding of his diaper. Quite proud of his latest discovery & accomplishment.
That’s about all I care to divulge here now. It rained a little over night and it is cooler but now the sun is breaking thru so a bike ride is appealing. A shorter ‘sprint’ ride v the longer endurance ride of Sunday. What a ride that was. In two (2) hours, I made 50 K which is 31 miles (a tad more) so the pace is OVER 15 mph which an increase like that for me is HUGE. I was doing 12-12.5 last training season.
My spinach is still growing & about to bolt so must, MUST freeze up some of that surplus. Very cool.
Lettuces are also enjoying the rain & cool lingering nights. Next week I will bring or take to the St Michaels pot luck a large salad deleting most of THAT surplus. I MAY lose it all next week while at Colonial unless I can rig up a makeshift drip irrigation system.
NO GOLF !! Glad that event it over. The practice paid off and no matter what anyone else says, I still have it, got it AND can get it back. Why if I had the time I could probably be as good as I once was or perhaps, PERHAPS better but I ask myself … why ?
I can now focus more on my artwork. Calls in this morning to Houston for next show in September. Not sure if it is go or no. Regardless, a large or bigger inventory is never bad and MAST in November just before the Holiday is smart. And who knows … maybe Second Saturdays will take off after the initial BUST.
I am also looking at and FEELING some sort of breakfast is in order.
I feel like I am in a good place now. The big priority items are checked off and the ‘fun stuff’ can now get going.
Be neither surprised nor alarmed if your correspondent drops off the grid for a few days. The art work, painting, fine surface details such as feathers & scales are behind and they are very therapeutic and relaxing to work on. Except painting sometimes is more aggravating and annoying as each projects approaches ‘THE END’.
