Day IV ... and the winner is …

I can’t tell you right here, right now up front because you, the Reader, audience of Fan would stop straight away an not finish the REST of the Story. Which also has multiple highlights. So, here goes…

I get to the course early after getting up way early to load Silver and check out. All was well except I had to leave about 1/3 of the half-gallon of 1% milk I bought on Wednesday in the room refrig but oh well. I could only fit so much in the small cooler then with the ice as it was going to sit in the car, all day filled with only a little ice so it was all iffy anyway.

But you aren’t here for a lecture on food safety (God forbid) OR Laws of Thermodynamics so let’s wrap up the golf.

Justin Rose stood tall and big trophy, red-plaid jacket and a spot in history winning by three (3) shots over Brooks Koepka finishing with a strong -20 under par for four (4) days.

Emiliano Grillo finished third at -16 with Kevin Na rebounding to fourth at -14.

South African little Louie Oosthuizen ended -10 T5, Ben Crane -9 was T8.

Today’s pairing was Charley Hoffman and Ricky Fowler who both began at -5.

Fowler was a fan fav and received MANY shouts from fans the entire round. Sometimes he acknowledged, other times he seemed to ignore.

Charley got a few but his wild & raucous days are pretty much in the rearview.

Today’s image is courtesy of Donna the scorer this day and the orange cap is Fowler and he should be on the right if the ‘magic’ of the software performs as advertised.

The front nine our group was accompanied by Officer Timmonds of the FWPD. Timmonds was with us for crowd control during the pro-am protecting W. Murray.

It turns out Timmonds was a hockey player, golfer AND rode bikes. In fact, he was a FW bike patrol officer. He played pro two years and said after 12-13 concussions he had to stop & play goalie. Which he was doing now in the winter months.

Needless to say he was in pretty good shape.

So we picked up conversations when time allowed on topics in common.

Anyway, I digressed and was diverted. Note to self: Remain FOCUSED & ON TASK.

BFF Russell Knox and JT Poston both (conveniently) finished -6 T20; Derek Fathauer -4 (T42);

Charley H -3 (T52) and Jim Furyk Even par which converts to T66.

So we get all done, scores checked and players come out to give Donna & I our signed balls and we head back to the volunteer center for hydration & relief because I neglected to mention conditions earlier as they remained marginally oppressive but not so bad when having fun.

We are making our way thru the crowd and a young hottie asked is she could take a picture of my sign with the scores on it.

I thought about it briefly, saw no harm in the gesture and after a final look at her smile & legs decided ‘sure.’

After obliging her, I jokingly asked 'anyone else?'

Well, I HAD takers for THAT OFFER ...

Well, before it was over there were about 20. ‘Would you mind taking one of me holding the sign?’

‘Not at all Mom, ma’am.’

So that was a first and much fun. I will probably be reprimanded eventually however asking ‘permission’ seemed idiotic at the time AND still does. For enhancing the Patron's experience is one of the things that brings people BACK and PREVENTS them from having a bad time THEN telling others.

So next year it was announced Charles Schwab would be the main sponsor which is good news so as of now I am IN.

Tomorrow is Memorial day and looking forward to down time, being home and relaxing.

And hanging out the flag.

God Bless America.
