I noticed today’s word was ‘opportune’ and IMMEDIATELY started thinking or IOW wasting time.

Yesterday was a missed opportunity with ‘six-two & even’. I recall (vaguely) LAST year on 2 J that it was ‘odd’ and this year would be ‘even’.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ?

Detective Dick Tracy, back in the day when REAL MEN were not afraid to be called ‘Dick’, would sign off of his two-way wrist radio with the call ‘6/2 & even.’

There you have it.

This carton wasn’t on long and it was rough & certainly crude as methods, standards & technology quickly developed.

But before that, Dick Tracy was in the Sunday papers. In Color no less and longer than in the daily paper which had only 4 or 5 frames (pictures, drawing or images) in black & white. So the Sunday paper was special, both a treat & a fight for to see who would get the funnies (part of the paper) first.

WHERE ARE YOU GOING WITH THIS ?

Last week when I was in Fort Worth, I always going over looking, observing, watching, searching or seeking for clues.

The beloved and waning local print newspaper, the Fort Worth Star Telegram or if you say it quicker Startle-0-gram, is changing or perhaps better stated evolving into extinction trying with futility to be relevant.

The example & case in point, I get up and walk to the lobby to get the complimentary paper, the local before mentioned and it is Saturday morning no problem but it IS important as you shall see to check the pairings & tee times for this day at the Colonial.

To my mild shock and borderline amusement, is this is NOT or NO LONGER the ‘Saturday’ paper.

This edition is clearly & prominently labeled the ‘Early Sunday edition.’ ON SATURDAY !!

So it is now Sunday morning here and much to do as always.

MUST water indoor & the outdoor plants. I was going to dedicate this entry and may well do a future feature entry entirely on water.

It COULD BE DONE and I COULD do it.

It was warm yesterday and expecting more of the same today.

I made Mass at 5:00 so today about the only reason to venture off campus is a short bike ride to CVS for some pharmaceuticals.

DRUGS?

NIX. I told you to remain quite.

I am out of daily cleaner for contactless lens. But the bigger, more pressing reason is insects, referring pacifically to skeeters, chiggers & fire ants and God has probably sent some new scourge to the Feast of Bill.

That’s correct. It is open season on Bill and they are LINED up.

I am trying to study & discern which bites are from which and I am getting closer. I axed Jenkins once on an office visit & he said there was ‘no way’ to tell with insects.

WHY?

Therapist checking in.

Because people are ALL different (NEWSFLASH) and some react differently to the insect bite, venom or mechanism. Think about mild allergic reactions and failing to build a passive immunity to a bite from a particular insect.

My chigger protocol IS working I am happy to report however sadly it is NOT a quick fix.

I mean why do YOU think they call them chiggers ? Nasty little MFs .

I NEED cotton balls to dab on the alcohol over the bite site. Also some generic brand antihistamine to relieve the itches & itching. Have I used 'torture' yet in this entry ?

Alright. So apologies for the last sub-standard effort. I cannot be on top of my game every day, every time out. I am a near-professional here and there are going to be times when an entry just does not achieve escape velocity.

Speaking of escape velocity, I have ACHIEVED it here now and am OUT OF HERE ….
